b) Take special care when working near
corners, sharp edges, etc. Do not allow the
accessory tool to bounce back from the work-
piece or jam. The rotating accessory tool is
more likely to jam in corners or sharp edges or
if it rebounds off them . This can cause a loss of
control or kickback .
c) Always move the accessory tool into the
material in the same direction in which the
cutting edge leaves the material (in other
words, the same direction in which the dust/
chips are ejected). Guiding the power tool in
the wrong direction will cause the cutting edge
of the accessory tool to jump out of the work-
piece, which can lead to the accessory tool
being pulled in this direction .
Supplementary safety instructions
for grinding
Special safety instructions for grinding
a) Use only the grinding accessories approved
for your power tool and only for the recom-
mended applications. For instance, never
grind with the side surface of a cutting disc.
Cutting discs are designed to remove material
with the edge of the disc . Any lateral applica-
tion of force on these grinding tools can cause
them to break .
b) For conical and pencil grinders, use only
undamaged mandrels of the correct size and
length and without an undercut on the
shoulder. Using an appropriate mandrel
re duces the risk of breakages .

Additional safety and working
instructions
Always wear protective goggles when working
with the machine .
We recommend using protective gloves, sturdy
and non-slip footwear and an apron .
Remove the plug from the mains socket before
making any adjustments to the machine .
Do not connect the machine to the mains socket
unless it is switched off .
Always keep the power cable out of the oper-
ating area of the machine . Always route the
cable away from the machine towards the rear .
The tool spindle will continue to run after the
tool has been switched off . Do not put the
machine down until it has come to a complete
standstill .
Do not reach into the danger zone of the
machine while it is running .
Use only tools whose permissible speed rating
is at least as high as the highest idling speed
of the power tool .
Check grinding tools before use . The grinding
tool must be properly fitted and rotate freely .
Perform a test run for at least 30 seconds
without any load . Do not use damaged, non-cir-
cular or vibrating grinding tools .
Sanding metals creates flying sparks . Make
sure that no one is put at risk . Because of the
fire hazard, make sure there are no flammable
materials in the vicinity (flying spark area) .
Do not use a dust extractor .
Always hold the tool so that sparks or grinding
dust fly away from the body .
