1 Notes to the documentation
When converting from natural gas to propane and vice
versa, comply in particular with the manufacturer's
installation instructions.
The conversion instructions apply exclusively to the heating
devices listed in the replacement parts catalogue.
We differentiate between two groups for the necessary
conversion work.
The output coded resistance on the heat exchanger is
decisive in determining the relevant group (1, fi g. 1.1).

The article number of the coded resistance is marked on the
plug; alternatively, it can be read-off from the appropriate
reference number under the diagnosis code D.098.

The following applies when switching from natural gas to
propane and vice versa: With group 1 heating devices,
only the gas nozzle in the venturi and the gas type coded
resistance on the BMU need to be replaced.
With group 2 heating devices, the gas fi tting must also be
replaced.
Conversions from natural gas to another gas type always
belong to group 1. It is not necessary to change the gas
fi tting.
2 Converting the gas group
The following work steps described in this chapter may only
be performed by qualifi ed technicians.

2.1 Replacing the gas nozzle
► Disconnect the heating device from the power supply.
► Close the gas cutoff valve of the heating device.
