2 Safe use

2.1 Operator's responsibility

Follow local safety regulations and instructions for safety equipment.

Always wear safety shoes when working with the truck.
▷
Do not move or allow other people to move under raised forks.
▷
The truck may not be used if it has any damages that affect the safety or
▷
safe use. All the repair must be performed by suitably trained staff.
All accidents that have caused personal injury or material damage must
▷
be reported to the management. The truck functions must also be
checked (see the check list in the chapter Working with the truck,
page 129) before it is used again.
2.2 Operating and conduct while operating

A loaded truck can overturn when attempting to turn on an incline.
Never turn a loaded truck on an incline.

Never drive the truck with oily hands or oily shoes.

Never wear loose items or jewellery when working with the truck.
▷
Never let a passenger ride on the truck.
▷
The truck must be driven with care, good judgement and in a respons-
▷
ible way.
Avoid sudden starting and braking, and turning at high speed.
▷

When operating on inclines the truck shall be operated with the load
downwards in the direction of the incline and driven with extreme care.
Adapt the speed according to the incline and surface.
