7.4.2 CHANGING THE FAN SPEEDS

On each fan coil six different air volumes are available, accordingly to a different fan speed
rotation:
• units have single-speed electric motor with autotransformer, to obtain 6 different volt-
ages (and 6 speeds);
Generally, there is a triad of speeds, as indicated in the wiring diagram located on the inter-
nal frontal part of the unit. Standard speeds are: size 20 L-6-4-1 and size 40 L-5-2-1.
The triad of speeds can be changed as follows:
1. be sure that the unit has been disconnected from the power supply;
2. in models with the casing, it must be removed as described in par. 6.3 of this manual;
3. remove the filter as described in Par. 7.2.1;
4. before handling the components of the electric circuit connected with the motor, dis-
charge the capacitor by short-circuiting the clamps with a screwdriver with an insulated
handle;
5. move the spade connectors into the position corresponding to the speeds required,
working on the terminal board indicated by symbols L-M-M-1-2-3-4-5-6 and following
the electric wiring diagram given with the unit.
6. terminal «L» must be always connected to the phase. Terminals M-M of the autotrans-
former correspond to the single-speed of the motor.
