Introduction

1.1

Designated use

ControlCare Fieldgate FXA720 is a PROFIBUS/Ethernet Gateway with integrated web server
that can be used:
• as a PROFIBUS DP/Ethernet gateway within a PROFIBUS monitoring and control
system
• as a remote data acquisition module for PROFIBUS devices connected to its PROFIBUS
DP channels.

found on the set-up CD ROM.

Licence agreement

The PROFIBUS driver supplied with the Setup CD-ROM can be installed on any computer
that is to be used with the Fieldgate FXA720. The full licence agreement is included on the
Setup CD-ROM.
The software required for read out and commissioning is either freely available or is subject
to the licensing conditions of its manufacturer.
Installation of the software on your computer implies that you accept the terms of the
corresponding licensing agreement.

• Minimum Pentium II, 233 MHz
• Minimum 128 MB RAM
• Free hard disk space: 100 MB
• Graphic display 800 x 600 pixel with minimum 64000 colours
• CD-ROM drive
• Mouse or compatible display equipment
• Network card (TCP/IP)
• Windows 2000, Service Pack 3
or Windows XP, Service Pack 1
• Internet browser, e.g.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater
Netscape Navigator 4.3 or greater
Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or greater, etc.

Fieldgate IP address

Caution
• In order to avoid conflicts with other IT devices in your company network, the
Fieldgate must be assigned a unique IP address during setup. Please consult
your system administrator before beginning the set-up.
