Risks when handling the induction
hob
WARNING
Fire hazard!
■ Unattended cooking on a hob with
fat or oil can be dangerous and may
result in fi re. NEVER attempt to extin-
guish a fi re with water; instead switch
the appliance off and then cover the
fl ames with, for example, a pan lid or
a fi re blanket.
■ If you are preparing dishes with al-
cohol, do not leave the appliance un-
attended! Food may ignite of its own
accord.
■ In the event of a fi re, immediately
switch off the appliance and switch
off the automatic circuit breakers
and/or unscrew the fuses. To extin-
guish the fi re, use a suitable fi re extin-
guisher labelled "F" or a fi re blanket.
■ Once the fi re has been extinguished,
have the appliance checked by our
Service department (see page EN-40).
■ Never store objects on the cooking
area.
■ Only protective hob grilles or hob
covers made by the hob manufac-
turer, approved protective hob grilles
or covers which are listed in the user
manual, or pre-installed protective
hob grilles or hob covers may be used.
The use of unsuitable protective hob
grilles or hob covers may lead to ac-
cidents.
■ Do not cover the appliance with blan-
kets, cloths or similar, as these objects
may become hot and catch fi re.
Safety
■ If the cooling fan is defective, the ap-
pliance can quickly overheat, causing
even more damage to the appliance
and setting fi re to any other near-
by fl ammable objects. If this occurs,
switch the appliance off immediately!
CAUTION
Fire hazard!
During use the appliance becomes hot.
The cooking zones/areas get very hot
during operation.
■ The cooking process must be super-
vised. A short cooking process has to
be constantly supervised
Risk of burns!
During use the appliance becomes hot.
The cooking zones/areas get very hot
during operation and will remain hot
even after they are switched off; this is
signalled by the residual heat indicator.
■ Caution in the event of a power cut:
residual heat may not be indicated.
■ Care should be taken to avoid touch-
ing heating elements. Always protect
hands with oven gloves or pot holders
when working on the hot appliance.
Only use dry oven gloves or pothold-
ers. Wet textiles are better heat con-
ductors and can cause steam burns.
■ After use, switch off the hob element
by its control and do not rely on the
pan detector. If you only remove the
pot from the cooking zone, the zone
will be reactivated as soon as a pot or
other object made of ferromagnetic
material is placed on it.
