Calibrating and Taking a Reading
1. From the Home screen, select TcB Reading.
Note: If you set Nurse ID and Patient ID to None in the Setup menu, Steps 2
and 3 are not required.
2. You can enter a Nurse ID and two of the following forms of
Patient ID:
–
Patient Name
–
Patient Medical Record Number
–
Patient Date of Birth
3. To enter information, scan the appropriate barcode or type the
information using the on-screen keyboard. To scan a barcode:
a. Highlight Scan In to activate the barcode scanner. Point
the scanner on the hand-held unit towards the barcode and

Note: This unit is equipped with
a Critical Power-off feature. After
completing the calibration, the unit
will beep (unless the sound is set
to level 0) if no measurement is
performed within a preset period
of time. The unit will power-
off 2 minutes later if no key is
pressed. If the unit automatically
shuts off, it is necessary to
perform another calibration after
restarting.
Note: To exit during calibration
or measurement, press the
(Home) key to return to the home
screen. Data will not be saved.
