Installation Procedures

This manual does not list all the use cases; please contact the Carrier marketing centers
in the local places, in case of new requirements, doubts, and problems.
Standard installation tools are recommended for all the installation requirements.
For information about the standard model series accessories, check the packing list; other necessary parts installation to
be prepared by users, as required by the installation service network stations.
Selection of the installation position: Indoor units should be installed in places where cold and hot air can circulate
uniformly. The following places should be avoided:
Places (in coastal areas) where salinity is high; places where sulfurized gases are usually present in the atmosphere
(areas where springs flourish and copper tube and brass are easily corroded); places where oils (machinery oils) and
steam are naturally present in the environment; places where organic solvents are used; areas where machines radiating
high frequency electromagnetic waves are placed (which causes control system malfunctions); areas where contact with
humid air near the windows and doors is imperative (leading to condensation); and areas where special sprayers are
frequently used.

Installation of an Indoor Unit

1. The distance from the air outlet to the floor surface should not exceed2.7m.
2. Ensure that the outlet airflow is sufficient for the whole area of the room and arrange the connecting tubes,
wires and drain pipes in proper outdoorpositions.
3. Ensure that the ceiling structures are capable of bearing the weight of the unit.
4. Connectingtubes,drainpipesandconnectingwirescanbeplacedacrosswallstoconnectthe indoorandoutdoorunits.
5. The connecting tubes and drain pipes between the indoor and outdoor units can be shorter in length.
6. Please refer to outdoor installation manual when you need to adjust the refrigerant charging volume.
7. Joint flanges are to be performed bythe users.
8. Valuables (e.g., TV sets, instruments, equipment, artworks, pianos, wireless devices etc.)
should not be placed below the indoor unit, or condensed water may leak upon them.
Installation and Fixing
1. Preparation prior to installing the indoorunit
(1) Open the intake grill.
(2) Remove the side cover (of both right and leftsides).
(3) This air conditioner can be used to absorb fresh air. The information on how to install the unit for fresh-air
absorptionis in the "Fresh airintake" section.
