the machine's multiplier and in perfect condition.
4)
Clean and grease the splines on the drive shaft cou-
pling with the PTO and the multiplier.
Crop harvesting procedure
DANGER
Before starting work, check that the guards are in
perfect condition and properly mounted.
In particular, check that the driveshaft guards, the
guard fastening devices, and the PTO guard are all in
perfect condition.
NOTICE
During the working phase, the driveshaft rotation
speed can be adjusted from a minimum of 250 rpm
to a maximum of 540 rpm in order to prevent dam-
age to the work vehicle.
Do not exceed a speed of 540 rpm, as this could dam-
age the work vehicle.
Only ever switch on the PTO when the work vehicle is
resting on the ground.
Do not lift the work vehicle until you have switched
off the PTO.
Carry out the operations described.
1)
Check that the PTO rotation direction and speed
comply with those of the machine (see "Safety signs
and information").
2)
Hitch the work vehicle onto the tractor (see "Hitch-
ing the work vehicle onto the tractor").
3)
Fit the driveshaft (see "Fitting the driveshaft").
4)
Set the work vehicle on the ground.
5)
Adjust the link pin (A) in order to establish the angle
between the three-point hitch and the ground as
shown.
6)
To prevent overloads on the ploughshare and the
transmission, lower the work vehicle with the trac-
tor moving forwards at low speed.
7)
Stop the tractor after moving forwards a few metres
to check harvesting quality.
8)
Check that the cutting discs are at the correct work-
ing depth.

INFORMATION FOR USE
5)
Fit the drive shaft joints into the PTO and the multi-
plier.
6)
Connect the retaining devices (A) to the hitching
points provided on the tractor and on the machine,
to prevent the guards turning round.
UN41-0752CP
Any roots and foliage should have been cut off
completely; if this is not the case, adjust the cutting
discs (see "Adjusting the cutting disc").
9)
Check the harvesting quality.
The crop must be in perfect condition and together
with the right amount of earth.
If the crop has been cut, bruised, or peeled, adjust
the depth to which the ploughshare penetrates the
ground.
10) Assess whether or not to correct the depth with
the tractor's hydraulic lift or by adjusting the sup-
port wheels together with the ploughshare tilt (see
"Adjusting the support wheel" and "Adjusting the
ploughshare tilt").
11) Start work and make sure the harvest quality is
constant or if any corrective action is needed (see
"Troubleshooting").
12) Keep the working speed at approximately 1 to 3
km/h, depending on the type of ground.
- Soft ground: higher speed.
- Compact or clayey ground: lower speed.
