• Charge the batteries only in chargers that have
been recommended by the manufacturer. There is
a risk of fire if a charger for a particular type of battery
is used for another type of battery.
• The battery can be damaged by sharp objects
such as a nail or screwdriver or by external ap-
plication of force. The battery may short-circuit and
start burning, smoking, exploding or overheating.
Safety notices for the charger
• Keep the charger away from rain and wet condi-
tions. Water ingress into the charger increases the
risk of an electric shock.
• Keep the charger clean. Dirt increases the risk of an
electric shock.
• Before every use, check the charger, cable and
plug. Do not use the charger if you notice any
damage. Do not open the charger yourself but
have it repaired exclusively by qualified special-
ists and only with original spare parts. Damaged
chargers, cables and plugs increase the risk of elec-
tric shock.
• Do not place objects on the charger and do not
put the charger on soft surfaces. Risk of fire
• Always check if the mains voltage corresponds
with the voltage specified on the rating plate of
the charger.
• Never use the charger if the cable, plug or the
charger itself have been damaged by external in-
fluences. Take the charger to the nearest specialist
service centre
• Do not open the charger under any circumstanc-
es. In the event of a fault, take it to a specialist service
centre.
Information on the charging unit and charging pro-
cess
1. Observe the data provided on the type plate of the
charging unit. Only connect the charging unit to the
mains voltage provided on the type plate.
2. Protect the charging unit and cable from damage
and sharp edges. Have damaged cables replaced
by an electrician immediately.
3. Keep the charging unit, rechargeable batteries and
rechargeable device out of reach of children.
4. Do not use damaged charging units.
5. Do not use the charging unit supplied to charge oth-
er rechargeable devices.
6. The rechargeable battery pack will heat up with
heavy loads. Leave the rechargeable battery pack
to cool down before starting the charging process.
7. Do not over-charge rechargeable batteries! Ob-
serve the maximum charging times. These charging
times only apply to discharged batteries. Inserting
a charged or partially charged rechargeable battery
multiple times leads to overloading and cell damage.
Do not leave rechargeable batteries in the charging
unit for multiple days.

8. Never use or charge rechargeable batteries if
you suspect that they were last charged more
than 12 months ago. The probability is high that
the rechargeable battery is already dangerously
damaged (deep discharge).
9. Charging at a temperature of less than 10°C leads
to chemical damage to the cell and can result in
a fire.
10. Do not use rechargeable batteries that have heat-
ed up during charging, because the battery cells
could be dangerously damaged.
11. Do not use rechargeable batteries that are bulg-
ing or deformed, or that exhibit unusual symptoms
(out-gassing, hissing, crackling, etc.)
12. Do not discharge the rechargeable battery fully
(recommended final discharge level max. 80%).
Fully discharging leads to premature ageing of the
battery cells.
13. Never leave batteries to charge unsupervised!
Careful handling and use of battery devices
Charge the batteries only in chargers that are
recommended by the manufacturer. Risk of fire
if a charger that is suitable for a specific type of
battery is used with other batteries.
In the power tools, use only the batteries de-
signed for the purpose. The use of other batter-
ies may result in injuries and risk of fire.
Keep the unused battery away from paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small
metal objects, which could cause bridging of
the contacts. A short circuit between the battery
contacts may cause burns or fire.
If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the
battery. Avoid contact with this. In the event of
accidental contact, rinse off with water. If the
liquid gets into eyes, seek medical assistance.
Leaking battery fluid may cause skin irritations
or burns.
Ensure that the device is switched off before in-
serting the battery. Inserting a battery into a power
tool that is switched on may result in accidents.
Recharge the batteries indoors only because
the battery charger is designed for indoor use
only. Risk of electric shock.
To reduce the electric shock hazard, unplug the
battery charger from the mains before cleaning
the charger.
Do not subject the battery to strong sunlight
over long periods and do not leave it on a heat-
er. Heat damages the battery and there is a risk of
explosion.
Allow a hot battery to cool before charging.
Do not open up the battery and avoid mechan-
ical damage to the battery. Risk of short circuit
and fumes may be emitted that irritate the respira-
tory tract. Ensure fresh air and seek medical assis-
tance in the event of discomfort.
