4.6 Sharpening the knife

WARNING
Risk of injury!

When the circular knife is sharpened with the special grinding stone, there is a danger of injury by the
freely rotating knife!

The grinding stone must not be wedged in the gap between the guard and the circular knife. This may
lead to canting or hooking. This, in turn, may result in crush injuries or incisions!

Firmly hold the unit and the grinding stone during grinding operation.
Wear protective goggles or equivalent protective equipment during grinding. Minute chips may cause
eye injuries.
Step 1 Widen the protector clearance with the fastening screw to such an extent that you can easily insert the
grinding stone. (pic.9)
Step 2 Lay the unit on its side, and firmly hold it in position. (pic.10)
Step 3 Place the grinding stone in contact with the underside of the knife. The angle between the grinding stone
and the knife should be about 15°-20° (pic.11)
Step 4 Switch on the unit, and slightly press the grinding stone against the underside of the knife.
