Front fork adjusters
The front fork can be adjusted in rebound, compression
and preload.
This adjustment is performed using outer screw-type
adjusters:
1) to adjust rebound damping (fig. 32.1 and fig. 32.2);
E
2) to adjust inner spring preload (fig. 32.1 and fig. 32.2);
3) to adjust compression damping (fig. 33.1 and fig. 33.2).
Park the motorcycle in a stable position on its side stand.
Turn the adjuster (1) on fork leg top with a 3-mm Allen
wrench to adjust rebound damping.
Using a 3 mm Allen wrench (1000DS S) or slot-head
screwdriver (1000DS) turn the adjuster (3, fig. 33.1 and
fig. 33.2) on the upper part of the wheel pins, to adjust
the compression in the hydraulic brake.
As you turn the adjuster (1), you will hear it click. Each click
identifies a setting.
Adjuster (3) turns freely to give continuous adjustment.
The maximum damping is obtained with the adjuster fully
tightened to the "0" position.
