5. Safety Instructions for
High Pressure Cleaners
Attention! When using power tools, the following
basic safety measures must be taken in order to
provide protection against electric shocks, risk of
injury and fire.
Read all these notes before using this pressure
washer and keep the safety instructions in a safe
place.
General notes on safety
• Children are not permitted to use the device.
Children should be supervised in order to ensure
that they do not play with the device.
• This machine shall not be operated by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental abilities or who have inadequate
experience or knowledge.
• Use the equipment only on a flat, stable surface.
• The transport handle is exclusively for transporting
the equipment. The equipment is portable but not
to be carried during operation.
• For your safety, it is recommended that you wear
safety glasses, safety boots and gloves and, if
necessary, ear protection.
• In the event of a disruption or fault during use,
switch the device off immediately and pull out the
mains plug. Then read the troubleshooting chapter
in the operating instructions for possible causes of
a fault or contact our service centre.
High-pressure cleaners shall not be operated by
children or untrained persons.
Working with the equipment
To avoid accidents and injuries:
WARNING! Pressure washers can be dangerous if
they are not operated correctly! The jet must never
be directed at people, animals, electric equipment
connected to the power supply or against the actual
pressure washer.
• WARNING! Do not direct the jet at yourself or
others in order to clean clothes and shoes.
• WARNING! Do not operate the pressure washer
when other people are in the immediate vicinity,
other than they are also wearing protective clothes.
• Always use the spray gun with both hands. This
will enable you to safely counter the recoil force
from the emerging water jet.
• Take appropriate measures to keep children away
from the equipment whilst it is running.
• Dispose of the packaging material correctly.
• Do not use the equipment in the vicinity of
lammable liquids or gases. Non-observance will

result in a risk of ire or explosion.
• WARNING! Do not spray combustible liquids. Risk
of explosion.
• Store the equipment in a dry place and out of
reach of children.
• WARNING! Ensure that no exhaust emissions
occur within the vicinity of air inlets.
• Do not use the device to spray pesticide or
undiluted chemical solvents.
• WARNING! Always ensure that you are standing
securely, particularly with regard to the potential
recoil when actuating the trigger of the spray gun.
To avoid damage to the equipment and any
possible person injury resulting from this:
• Do not work with damaged or incomplete
equipment, or with equipment that has
been converted without the approval of the
manufacturer. Before initial operation, have
a specialist check that the required electrical
protection measures are in place.
• WARNING! Do not use the device if the mains
connection cable or other important parts such as
the safety equipment, the high-pressure hose or
the spray gun, are damaged.
• Protect the pressure washer from frost and dry
running.
• Use only original accessories and do not carry out
conversion work on the equipment.
• The device must be opened by a qualified
electrician. In case of repair, always contact our
service center.
• WARNING! The pressure washer was designed
for operation with a neutral detergent based on a
biologically decomposable anionic tenside. Other
detergents or chemical substances could impair
the safety of the washer and damage it.
• If you come into contact with cleaning agents, rinse
with plenty of clean water.
• WARNING! Water that has passed through a
backflow preventer is classified as undrinkable.
• WARNING! High-pressure hoses, fittings and
couplings are important for machine safety. Use
only high-pressure hoses, fittings and couplings
recommended by the manufacturer.
• WARNING! To ensure machine safety, use only
original replacement parts from the manufacturer
or replacement parts authorised by the
manufacturer.

Electrical safety:

• Unsuitable extension cables could be dangerous. If
an extension cable is used, it must be suitable for
outside use, the connection must be dry and must
be raised off the ground. It is recommended to use
cable drums, which guarantee that the socket is at
least 60 mm above the ground.
• Always disconnect the device from the mains when
