Options

9.1

Potentiometer

The Potentiometer is required for position feedback or is used for the additional options.
A maximum of 2 Potentiometers can be installed in the actuator with different resistance values (1k, 2k, or 5kOhm).
9.1.1

Setting the Potentiometer

When the actuator is ordered with a valve and a potentiometer, the potentiometer is adjusted and set in the factory prior to delivery.
(Default: 10% of the max. ohmic value of the potentiometer)
Subsequent adjustment of the Potentiometer
 With the use of the Motor, move the valve to the end position (CLOSED - Spindle extended)
 Place the Potentiometer Pinion into the Toothing on the main gear
 Turn the marking (B) on the adjustment ring until it is in-line with marking (A). Using an Allen Key (SW1.5),
fix the pinion to the potentiometer via the grub screw, marking (C).
Potentiometer in Connection with REtrans-2W or REtrans-4W
 Move the valve to the desired end position

Potentiometer in Connection with Electronic Positioner REpos
 Please refer to Operating Instructions: REpos-8010.
 The Positioner is mounted on an angle bracket and fastened to the motor plate via
four M4x10 Socket Head Cap Screws.
9.2

Heating element

For highly fluctuating ambient temperatures or temperatures in which fall below 0°C, a heater is recommended.
The heater is internally wired to the Power Supply Unit, therefore no separate wiring is required. The installation
location of the heater is shown in the Technical Construction on page 21.
9.3

Positioner REpos

The digital positioner Repos converts a standard signal (eg. 4-20 mA) into three-point stepping signals.
The installation of the positioner is shown in the Technical Construction on page 21.

9.3.1

Position feedback module for the REpos (I/Y-Modul)

The position feedback module returns a standard signal (4-20 mA) to the customer's control system. The installation
of the module is shown in the Technical Construction on page 21.

9.4

Positioner Transmitter REtrans-2W/4W

The positioner transmitter returns a standard signal (4-20 mA) tot he customer's control system. The connection is
made according to the wiring diagram. For a detailed description of the Transmitter please refer to Operating
Instructions: REtrans-8010
