4. Product introduction

4.1 Product description of the building
bypass
The building bypass is used for temperature and
pressure measurement and control of the bypass
temperature in the district heating network.
Typical applications:
At users of district heating, such as private
homes or larger buildings, such as schools and
industry, where 230 V is available

4.2 Intended use of the building bypass

The building bypass is used to achieve a satisfying
flow temperature in the installation during periods
when maintaining the temperature at the natural
district heating flow in the installation can be difficult.
For example during the summer when heating of the
building may be interrupted. In addition, operating
data for the temperature and pressure are logged in
the installation. These data are important for the
plant operations optimisation.
4.3 Product description for the building
measure point
The building measure point is used for temperature
and pressure measurement in building systems.
Typical applications:
At users of district heating, such as private
homes or larger buildings, such as schools and
industry, where 230 V is available
4.4 Intended use of the building measure
point
The building measure point is used to log operating
data of the temperature and pressure in the
installation. These data are important for the plant
operations optimisation.

4.5 Using the product

View the logged data on the following website:
http://igrid.grundfos.com.
Logging into the website requires a user name and
password supplied separately by Grundfos.
Once you are logged in, data from the data logging
devices become available by clicking on "My
devices" at the top of the webpage.
You can now click on the following options next to a
device:
"Graphics"
"Data"
"Settings".
The "Graphics" tab is displayed by default.
Graphics
The graphs are designed with the pressure and
temperature curves in separate coordinate systems.
A minimised version of the curves is displayed under
each coordinate system. The required period that the
curves have to span can be set.
Use the slider on the right and left side of the time
interval to narrow or extend the displayed time
period. Alternatively, you can select different zoom
ranges directly from the dropdown menu.
Data
Click "Data" to display the logged data. Data in the
columns are displayed with type designation
depending on the type of unit (for example building
bypass or building measuere point) chosen, for
example T-flow or T-return.
Settings
Press "Settings" to set the operating parameters.
When setting the bypass temperature for
the building bypass, be aware that it is
done in 1/10 degrees. This means that you
have to type 600 if a temperature of 60 °C
is required.
If you type 60, the building bypass will
attempt to keep the temperature at 6 °C
which will result in the bypass valve
closing.
