2. OYSTER® CONNECT
2.1 Montageplatte montieren / Mounting of the assembly plate / Pose de la plaque de fixation
Aufgrund des geringen Gewichtes der Antenneneinheit ist eine Verschraubung i.d.R. nicht erforderlich. Eine
Verklebung der Montageplatte mit üblicher Klebedichtmasse ist ausreichend.
Insofern je nach Konstruktion des Dachaufbaus eine Verschraubung erforderlich wird, bietet die Montageplatte 4
dafür vorgesehene Schraubenpositionen.
ACHTUNG: Trennen Sie die Antenneneinheit von der Montageplatte, bevor die Montageplatte auf das
Dach geklebt wird.
Die eigentliche Antenneneinheit darf NICHT mit auf das Dach aufgeklebt werden! Dadurch würden eventuelle
Reparaturen sehr stark erschwert bzw. unmöglich gemacht, da die Antenne nicht mehr vom Fahrzeug abgenom-
men werden kann!
WAHL DES MONTAGEORTES DER OUTDOOR UNIT
Die Outdoor Unit sollte im Idealfall genau waagerecht und mit freier Sicht nach allen Seiten positioniert werden.
Anders, als zum Beispiel eine Satellitenanlage, sendet und empfängt die Oyster® Connect in horizontaler Rich-
tung und im 360 Grad Winkel (Rundum).
Wichtig: Die Outdoor Unit darf nicht in aufgestautem Wasser stehen! Bedenken Sie dabei bitte auch den Fall
der Schneeschmelze.
Benachbarte Dachaufbauten aus Kunststoff, beispielsweise Dachluken oder Zwangsbelüftungen, stellen für die
Funkverbindung kein Hindernis dar. Metallhaltige Objekte, wie zum Beispiel Dachklimaanlagen oder Satelliten-
antennen, sollten möglichst weit von der Outdoor Unit entfernt sein. Solarmodule sind zwar auch metallhaltig,
aber in der Regel flach genug (<10cm) gebaut um kein Hindernis darzustellen.
Nicht waagerechte Montageorte
Die Outdoor Unit sollte so waagerecht wie möglich installiert werden. Ist dies nicht machbar, so muss sicherge-
stellt sein, dass der niederste Punkt der Kabelausgang der Outdoor Unit ist. Hierbei darf nicht von der vorgegeben
Montagerichtung abgewichen werden! Flächen, die zum Heck des Fahrzeugs geneigt sind, sind im allgemeinen
ein guter Montageort.
Der ideale Montageort der Outdoor Unit ist da, wo am sie besten aus allen Richtungen zu sehen ist.
Fahrtrichtung
Montage auf einem Aufstelldach
Die Outdoor Unit ist sehr leicht und sollte daher problemlos auf einem Aufstelldach aus Kunststoff montiert
werden können. Eine endgültige Freigabe hierzu kann Ihnen jedoch nur der Hersteller des Aufstelldachs bzw. der
Reisemobilhersteller geben.
WICHTIG: Im aufgestellten Zustand muss das Dach zum Fahrzeugheck hin geneigt sein! Dadurch ist gewährleis-
tet, dass der Kabelausgang der Outdoor Unit auch in diesem Fall der tiefste Punkt bleibt.

2. OYSTER® CONNECT
Due to the low weight of the antenna unit, a screwed connection is usually not necessary. Bonding the mounting
plate with standard adhesive sealant is sufficient.
If, depending on the design of the roof structure, a screwed connection is required, the mounting plate provides
four screw positions provided for this purpose.
ATTENTION: Separate the antenna unit from the mounting plate before bonding the mounting plate to
the roof.
The actual antenna unit must NOT be bonded onto the roof! This would make possible repairs very difficult or
impossible because the antenna can no longer be removed from the vehicle!
SELECTING THE MOUNTING LOCATION FOR THE OUTDOOR UNIT
Ideally, the outdoor unit should be positioned exactly horizontally and with a clear view in all directions. Unlike
a satellite system, for example, the Oyster® Connect transmits and receives signals horizontally and at a 360
degree angle (all around).
Important: The outdoor unit must not stand in accumulated water! Also consider the case of snow melt.
Adjacent roof structures of plastic, for example roof hatches or forced ventilation, are no obstacle for the radio
connection. Objects containing metal, such as roof air conditioning systems or satellite antennas, should be
located as far away as possible from the outdoor unit. Solar modules also contain metal but in general they are
installed flat enough (< 10 cm) so that they do not represent an obstacle.
Non-horizontal mounting locations
Install the outdoor unit as horizontally as possible. If this is impossible, make sure that the lowest point is the
cable outlet of the outdoor unit. However, do not deviate from the specified installation direction! Surfaces that
slope towards the rear of the vehicle are generally a good mounting location.
An ideal installation location for the outdoor unit is where it can best be seen from all directions.
Driving direction
Installation on a pop-up roof
The outdoor unit is very light. Therefore it should easily be installed on a plastic pop-up roof. However, only the
pop-up roof or motorhome manufacturer can give you the final approval for this.
IMPORTANT: When extended, the roof must be inclined towards the rear of the vehicle! This ensures that the
cable outlet of the outdoor unit remains the lowest point even in this situation.
