Main Drive Belt Adjustment. (Fig.27 & 27.1)
It is ensential for machine operation that the main
drive belt tension between the engine and jackshaft
is correctly adjusted at all times.
WARNING. Ensure exhaust has cooled before
attempting belt adjustment.
(a)
Adjust overcentre stops (A Fig.27) to
establish toggle over position of adjuster link (B)
in engaged and disengaged positions.
(b)
Set length of adjuster (B Fig.27.1) to obtain
correct belt tension. The belt is correctly
tensioned when a deflection of 7mm can be
achieved when a force of 3kg/30N/6.7lbs is
applied midway between the 2 pulley centres.
(c)
The actuator rod between the cylinder drive/lift
lever, and the jackshaft lever should be
adjusted so that the spool returns to it 's nuetral
position when the drive is engaged or
disengaged. Nuetral position is indicated by
having clearence between each roll pin on
actuator rod and lever
Hydraulic Pump Drive Belt (Fig.28)
It is important that the Hydraulic Drive Pump belt is
kept correctly tensioned to prevent loss of
transmission power.
(a)
Slacken screw (A)
(b)
Tighten screw (B) (this increases the drive
belt tension.) until a deflection of 8mm can be
achieved by applying a force of 5.8kg/57N/
12.8lbs midway betwen the pulley centres.
(c)
Retighten the screw (A) after adjustment.
Parking Brake Adjustment (Fig.29)
Loosen cable locknuts (A) and screw cable adjusters
(B) equally towards the front of the machine until a
force of 50-60kg, applied on pedal, is required to
apply and lock brake. Re-tighten lock nuts.
NOTE: maximum brake band material
thickness=1.5mm
