4 Camera Adjustments
To set up the camera, open the flap on the lower side
of the housing with the supplied Torx key. Fig. 2 shows
the operating field with the open flap. To adjust the
camera, a monitor is required. This may also be
connected to the jack EXT VIDEO (15) if it is difficult
to access the connection cable with a camera already
installed.
After setting up the camera retighten the flap.
4.1 Adjustments at the lens
1) Slightly release the setscrew (12) for the two ad-
justing rings of the lens with the Torx key.
2) With the rear zoom adjusting ring (13) adjust the
desired focal length and with the front focus ad-
justing ring (11) set the picture into focus.
3) After the lens adjustment retighten the setscrew
(12) [not excessively].
4.2 Adjustment of the iris
The camera has an automatic iris control. If in spite of
sufficient illumination the picture on the monitor
should appear too dark or too bright with glaring light,
it is in general possible to open the iris wider (direction
MAX) or close it (direction MIN) with the trimming
potentiometer IRIS (16).
4.3 Adjustment of the LED brightness
The camera has 30 infrared LEDs (7) for the illumina-
tion of the surveillance zone during night operation.
With the trimming potentiometer LED (19) the brightn-
ess may be adjusted.
CAUTION
Never look directly into the lit LEDs at
close range. Although the light is invi-
sible, it may cause eye damage.
4.4 Adjustments by on-screen insertion
With the three buttons (14, 17, 18) it is possible to
make further adjustments on the screen:
Button
(17) to successively call the operating pa-
rameters and to stop the on-screen insertion after
calling the last parameter
Buttons
(14) and
(18) to make adjustments
If no button is pressed for approx. 25 s, the insertion
disappears. All adjustments are automatically memo-
rized.
Day and night operation
d n
If a scale (
) appears when calling, the
camera is adjusted to automatic switching between
day operation (colour reproduction) and night opera-
tion (black-and-white reproduction). The threshold
value for switching-over can be defined by moving the
cursor to the right with the button
with button
(14): The further the cursor is moved to
the right, the lower the light intensity at which switch-
ing over will occur in case of upper or lower deviati-
ons. The table indicates reference values for the
adjustment:
Cursor position

day → night
8 lux
(waiting time*: 2 seconds)
night → day
18 lux
(waiting time*: 5 seconds)
* Minimum time for upper or lower deviation of the threshold value so
that switching-over will occur.
To firmly adjust the camera to day operation,
move the cursor to the left stop with the button

switching operation, press the button

Phase (P)
In case of AC operation the type of picture synchro-
nization can be adjusted.
Mains synchronization, adjustable (
The picture is synchronized via the mains frequen-
cy. Thus, it is possible to synchronize the video sig-
nals of the cameras when several cameras are
used, e. g. in systems with camera switchers, so
that a disturbing rolling of the picture is prevented
when the camera is switched over. To correct the
phase of the video signal, move the cursor to the
left with the button
button
To change from mains synchronization to inter-
nal synchronization, either move the cursor to the
left stop with the button
right stop with the button
again.
Internal synchronization (
The picture is synchronized via an internal pulse
device. This is the standard adjustment when only
the picture of this camera is viewed on the con-
nected monitor.
To change from internal synchronization to
mains synchronization, press the button
Note: In case of operation with 12 V
firmly adjusted to internal synchronization.
Backlight compensation (B)
The backlight compensation serves to brighten up
objects as intended which are to be monitored in
backlight and which would appear too dark and poor
in contrast by the exposure control. The extent of
brightening can be adjusted in 4 steps via the buttons
(14) and
B
B
Exposure control (L)
For the basic adjustment (ALC) the exposure is exclu-
sively controlled via the iris (compare chapter 4.2). If
the camera is used in an environment of very high
light differences, the control range can be extended
by additionally using a control of the shutter (ELC).
For this purpose the flicker compensation must be
switched off (see next paragraph). Select with the but-
tons

(18) or to the left

Flicker compensation (F)
If a flickering of the picture occurs resulting from light
sources operated with 50 Hz alternating voltage, the
in the
flicker compensation may be switched on. With the
