Safety Notes
The camera corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
G
Protect the camera against extreme temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range -10 °C to
+50 °C).
G
The camera housing is weatherproof, however, not
absolutely watertight. Therefore, do not immerse the
camera in water.
G
Never use aggressive detergents or chemicals for
cleaning the camera.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the camera is used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if it is not correctly
installed or operated, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation defin-
itively, take it to a local recycling plant for a dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environment.

Applications
This high-resolution CCTV colour camera is specially
designed for application in video surveillance systems. It
is weatherproof (IP 66) and therefore also suitable for
outdoor use.
The camera is equipped with a zoom lens provided
with a DC-controlled iris (DC lens). To obtain an opti-
mum colour quality in daylight, an IR suppression filter is
placed in front of the lens. If the light intensity falls below
5 lux, the camera switches to black-and-white reproduc-
tion, the 40 infrared LEDs light up, and 2 seconds later
the IR suppression filter is replaced by an IR focus com-
pensation filter.

Operation

4.1 Mounting
1) Screw the distance piece (2) on the camera and
above it tighten the sunshield (5) with the mounting
screw (4).
2) Drill the fixing holes for the supplied support at a suit-
able place and centrally to this drill a hole for passing
through the connection cable.
3) Pull the connection cable (11) through the support
(see fig. 1) and tighten the camera with the M8 screw
(10) to the support.
4) Screw the support with the camera to the wall.

4.2 Electrical connection
Important! The BNC plug (15), the 12 V inline jack
(14), and the cable distributor (13) are not weather-
proof. For outdoor installation, they must be protected
.
correspondingly.
1) Connect the BNC plug via a screened cable to the
video input of a monitor. With a cable length exceed-
ing 100 m, a video amplifier should be inserted be -
tween the camera and the cable to compensate sig-
nal loss by the cable.
2) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a
minimum permanent current rating of 1 A (e. g.
MONACOR PSS-1500E) to the low-voltage inline
jack. A low-voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside
diameter) is required. Always observe the correct
polarity: Connect the positive pole to the inner con-
tact of the plug.
4.3 Adjusting the camera and the lens
1) Release the Torx screw (1) of the cover flap with the
supplied screwdriver and open the flap. Now the
operating elements are accessible.
2) Remove the protective foil on the front side of the
camera housing and switch on the connected moni-
tor.
3) Release the hinge screws (3, 10) of the support and
adjust the camera to the surveillance area. Then
retighten the screws.
4) With the zoom adjusting ring (7) adjust the picture
detail (if required, also with the digital zoom, chapter
4.4) and then adjust a clear picture with the focus set-
ting ring (6). The corresponding adjusting lever is a
locking screw at the same time which must be
released prior to adjustment and retightened after
adjustment.
5) If the picture should appear too bright or too dark
although the monitor has been adjusted in an opti-
mum way, the trimming potentiometer (8) allows to
generally open or close the iris further.
4.4 Functions AGC, BLC, FLK, ALC/ELC,
and digital zoom

Switch 1 ON:
The automatic gain control (AGC) is activated. This is
the standard setting for surveillance cameras. For
special applications the AGC can be deactivated.
Switch 2 OFF:
The backlight compensation (BLC) is deactivated. Set
the switch to ON when objects are in the backlight.
Switch 3 OFF:
The flicker compensation (FLK) is deactivated. Set the
switch to ON when flickering occurs on the monitor due
to light sources operated with an AC voltage of 50 Hz.
Switch 4 ON:
The iris control (ALC) is activated and the electronic
shutter (ELC) is deactivated. This setting is required for
the inserted DC lens and must not be changed.
Switches 5 and 6 OFF:
The digital zoom is deactivated. If required, select an -
other setting according to fig. 2. Shortly switch off the
12 V operating voltage so that a change of zoom
becomes effective.
After all adjustments have been made, close the cover
flap, and tighten it with the screw (1).
