Chapter I Overview
1.1 Definition and technical parameters of SATA four-wheel alignment
Definition:
In order to ensure stable straight-line driving and easy operation, and to reduce the wear of tires and other parts, there are many considerations when
determining the angle between the wheel and the ground, and the installation of the guide wheel, steering knuckle and front axle on the frame. These components
shall be installed with certain relative position maintained. Such installation is called as guide wheel alignment, also known as front wheel alignment.
In the past, wheel alignment usually refers to front wheel alignment. But nowadays, vehicle requires front wheel alignment as well as rear wheel alignment, that is,
four-wheel alignment. The complete four-wheel alignment of the vehicle is to detect the angular position relationships among the vehicle frame, the suspension
member, the wheel, and among the four wheels in the X, Y and Z axis directions. Carry out accurate measurement on the vehicle by using the dedicated
instrument, compare the measurement results with the standard design parameters provided by OEM, and adjust relevant parameters to the standard range,
allowing the vehicle to satisfy the standards specified by OEM and achieve the best operating and driving performance.
