The amount of firewood and the air-control-handle setting can be adjusted to the individual need
for heating and the draught in the particular chimney.
Your new TT70 has one air regulator (air-control-handle) that is located under the door, on the
right side of the stove.
When the air-control-handle is placed all to the right (seen from the front of the stove), the stove
is ready for ignition. This is called start-up air. This mode is used only when igniting the stove and
for an maximum of 10 minutes.
As soon as the stove is warmed up(latest after 10 minutes) the air-control-handle must be moved
to the position of normal use (operating air). This is from the left side to the center position.
Place the air-control-handle in the center position until the fire is stabile and enough heat is gene-
rated by the stove.
Depending on the temperature in the fire, the amount of wood, the draft in your chimney and the
air supply to the stove, you are now able to find a setting of the air-control-handle, that matches
your desires, and also secures a good usage of the wood. The more air is supplied to the stove,
the cleaner it will burn and the usage of the wood is optimized. Clear yellow flames are an indica-
tor for clean combustion.
Air-control-handle placed to the left, looking at the front of the stove, means that the air supply is
closed. This position may only be used when the stove is out of use, and cold.
Air-control-handle placed in the middle means maximum air supply. This setting secures enough
air to the burning fire.

3.7. Lighting instructions

We recommend "lighting from the top" as this reduces particle emissions and saves you from
having to open the door a second time to refill the wood.
Set the Air control handle to the lighting position (all the way to the right when seen from the
front)
Place two medium pieces of split firewood at the bottom of the combustion chamber.
Place 2 smaller pieces of wood on top.
Stack plenty of kindling sticks in layers on top, with air in between. A total of approx. 1.5 -
max. 2 kg of firewood. (Kindling sticks, see section 5.1.)
Light the upper part using 2 bio fire starters or cubes. The flames must work their way from
top to bottom, like a candle. We recommend TermaTech's Bio firestarters that generate
strong heat for a long time.
When the flame burns at the top, the gases from the wood are burned off before they leave
the combustion chamber.
This makes a big difference compared to lighting from below. In addition, heat will be ge-
nerated more quickly, and thus drafts into the chimney, as the fire from the fire starters is
denser in the chimney.
If necessary, keep the door slightly jammed for about 1 minute to prevent condensation from
forming on the inside of the glass.
Note: Keeping the door ajar for too long will result in the glass becoming sooty.
After approx. 5 min., but no later than 10 min., adjust the Air control handle to the left, to
the operating position (in center position). In general, the lighting position should be used for
as short a time as possible, as otherwise the glass will become sooty (never more than 10
minutes).

3.7.1 Interferences, problems and solutions in connection with lighting

Issue:
Smoke comes out when the door is ajar.
Causes:
There is insufficient draft in the chimney, which may be due to insufficient use of kindling or
firestarters.
There may be a cold air plug in the chimney, which can be remedied by burning a few curled
up newspaper pages before the wood-burning stove is filled with firewood.
There is negative pressure in the room – open a window if necessary.
Make sure that the wood-burning stove receives a sufficient amount of air.
Turn of the extractor hood, even if it is on in another room.
Consider installing external combustion air.

3.7.2 Loading new firewood

When the flames have burned out, but while there is still a large layer of ember, open the
door carefully and place 2 to 3 pieces of split firewood in the stove. Weight approx 1,5 – 2
kg. If necessary, use a glove, as the wood-burning stove, Air control handle and handle can
