The cooking zones get very hot dur-
ing operation and will remain hot af-
ter they are switched off; this is shown
by the residual heat indicator.
If a mains failure occurs, the residu-
al heat indicator will go out and may
not indicate the presence of residual
heat.
Allow the cooking zones to cool com-
pletely before cleaning.
Exception: Remove sugary or starchy
contaminants, plastic or aluminium
foil from the hot glass ceramic imme-
diately using a standard sharp scrap-
er. While doing so protect hands from
burns with oven gloves or pot holders.
Fire hazard!
Unsupervised cooking on the hob with
grease and oil can be dangerous and
can cause fires.
NEVER attempt to extinguish a fire
with water; instead switch the appli-
ance off and then cover the flames
with, for example, a pan lid or a fire
blanket.
If you are preparing food with alco-
hol, do not leave the cooker unattend-
ed! Food may ignite of its own accord.
Never store objects on the cooking
area.
The cooking process must be super-
vised. A short cooking process must
be constantly supervised.
Only protective hob grilles or hob
covers made by the hob manufac-
turer, approved protective hob grilles
or covers which are listed in the ap-
pliance user manual, or pre-installed
protective hob grilles or hob covers

For your safety
protective hob grilles or hob covers
may lead to accidents.
Always switch the hob off completely
after cooking!
Risk of injury!
This hob has sharp edges. Improper
handling can result in cut injuries.
Wear protective gloves when unpack-
ing and installing the hob.
NOTICE
Risk of damage from improper installa-
tion of the appliance.
Insufficient air circulation may lead to
damage caused by overheating.
Never fit the hob over an oven with-
out ventilation!
Risk due to improper operation!
Immediately remove sugar or starchy
food particles and residues of plastics
or aluminium foil. Otherwise, these
may cause permanent and irrepara-
ble damage to the hob.
Do not place hot pots or pans on the
sensor field. Otherwise the electron-
ics underneath may be damaged.
Do not push heavy pans across the
hob; this may scratch the glass ce-
ramic.
Even if small objects just make
slight contact with the hob, they
can damage the glass ceramic sur-
face. For example, do not allow salt
and pepper shakes to fall onto the
hob from cabinets above.
