may be advisable to connect the SRL to a secondary tether anchorage to provide
protection against dropping the SRL during installation.In addition, it may be
advisable to maintain the secondary connection once the SRL is installed given
the work conditions and application. The cable sling (see Fig.1) or an alternate
anchorage connector and / or connecting device may be used to connect the
SRL to the secondary anchorage. Always connect the secondary tether line or
device to the handle of the SRL. To connect the cable sling, wrap the cable around
the handle and insert the smaller O-ring through the larger O-ring. Then attach
a carabiner to the smaller O-ring and connect the carabiner to the anchorage /
anchorage connector. If an alternate anchorage connector and / or connecting
device is used,follow the instructions provided with the equipment to ensure that a
proper and compatible connection is made.
FALL ARREST ANCHORAGE
Locate an approved overhead anchorage*. (See Anchorage Requirements in 3.2 of
this manual.)
ANCHOR LOOP MOUNTING
Mount the SRL onto the anchorage by the anchor loop using the locking carabiner
(see Fig. 2a). The cable sling SSRLTRK may be used (EN795-B compliance), if
needed, to choke off to an anchorage, such as an I-beam (see Fig. 2b). Install
the cable sling around the anchorage and insert the smaller O-ring through
the larger O-ring.Then connect the SRL carabiner to the smaller O-ring.Make
sure that connector is completely closed and locked and that its gate is not in a
position to be load-bearing. If an alternate anchorage connector is used, make
sure it is compatible with the anchorage and SRL connector in regards to strength,
size, and shape. Follow all instructions provided with the alternate anchorage
connector.
PLATE MOUNTING
For Miller DuraSeal™ SRL swiththe built-in mounting plate, install mounting plate
to the anchorage or mounting surface using the required hardware as stated and
the configuration shown in Figures 3a and 3b.
REQUIRED HARDWARE:
• Four (4) bolts, 1/2"(12mm4XB)O, LTm, HEX in HEiAmD1u/2"mX1.7t5e"

Always use approved hardware for installation. (not included)
[*Note: For the purposes of this instruction manual, an over head application
implies that there is no slack in the lifeline when the unit is mounted above the
user and connected to the user's back D-ring (recommended attachment point).

5-2 PERSONAL FALL ARREST SYSTEM CONNECTION / USE
CONNECTING TO THE FULL-BODY HARNESS
Attach the snap hook to the dorsal attachment element on the full-body
harness (back D-ring connection is recommended). Make sure that snap hook is
completely closed and locked.
If applicable : using the tagline, draw the SRL snap hook down, disconnect the
tagline, and attach it to the full-body harness.
