3-2 WARNINGS AND LIMITATIONS
CAPACITY
For use by ONE person only. Maximum capacity is 140kg (310 lbs.), including
body weight, clothing and tools.
LIMITS OF USE
Anchor device vertically overhead. For the purposes of this instruction manual, an
overhead application implies that there is no slack in the lifeline when the unit is
mounted above the user and connected to the user's back D-ring (recommended
attachment point).
This device is not suitable for horizontal/leading edge or horizontal lifeline
applications.
The device shall be installed and used in such a manner as to minimize the
potential for a swing fall. User must never be exposed to a swing fall hazard.
Do not allow lifeline to become slack.
Never use this device as a restraint or positioning device.
ANCHORAGE REQUIREMENTS
The anchorage must be capable of supporting 2650 lbs. (12kN) per worker; or it
must be designed, installed, and used under the supervision of a qualified person
as part of a complete fall arrest system which maintains a safety factor of two.
FREE FALL
Personal fall arrest systems must be rigged to limit a free fall to the shortest
possible distance [0.6m (2ft.) maximum].
FALL ARREST FORCES
Miller DuraSeal™ SRLs are designed with a built-in shock absorber to limit
potential fall arrest forces to 1,320 lbs. (6kN) maximum.
LIFELINE RETRACTION AND LOCKUP
Do not use the device if it does not retract. Always maintain tension on the lifeline
while retracting.
Device must be tested for locking before each use. Do not use the device if the
brakes do not engage.
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
Do not lubricate this device.
Self-retracting lifelines must be removed from service if any part of the system
appears to be damaged or does not pass inspection, or if the unit has been
subjected to the forces of arresting a fall(lifeline replacement).
Do not attempt to service this device with the exception of the field replaceable
lifeline made by a competent person. If a self-retracting lifeline does not operate
properly or requires repairs to components other than the lifeline, return the device
to the equipment manufacturer, or service center authorized in writing by the
manufacturer, for repairs.

Miller self-retracting lifelines are designed for use with Honeywell-approved
