Safety-related information

1.1
General notes
These instructions describe how to machine-reprocess full
face masks from the Dräger Panorama Nova, X-plore and
FPS 7000 series. During machine-based reprocessing of the
full face masks, increased mechanical, thermal and chemical
loads may occur. As a result, in comparison with the manual
procedure, the replacement of parts may become necessary
prematurely. For some full face masks, special instructions
must be followed.
Read these instructions carefully before the machine-based
reprocessing of masks. The following documents must also be
observed:
The instructions for use and the safety data sheet for the
detergent
The instructions for use for the washer, washer-disinfector
or the hooded machine
The instructions for use for the respective full face mask

Special notes
Visors with PC/CC or PCaf coating
With machine-based reprocessing of full face masks, the
longer contact times of the cleaning agent can dissolve the
coating on the visor. Dräger recommends only cleaning the full
face masks with the aforementioned visors by hand.
Do not clean or dry the inside of visors marked "PC/CC" or
"PCaf" with a cloth, as this may damage the coating. To ensure
that the coating can regenerate and an optimal service life is
achieved, full face masks with these visors should be left
unpacked after drying for at least one day in normal climatic
conditions according to DIN EN ISO 291.
Dräger FPS 7000 RP
Dräger recommends only cleaning the Dräger FPS 7000 RP
by hand. The leather used for the wiper can shrink due to
humidity and high temperatures. This reduces the wiping area.
Mask/helmet combination
Prior to machine-based reprocessing, the mask/helmet
adapters of mask/helmet combinations must be placed in the
machine so that the adapters do not slip through the mesh
baskets, which could block the rinsing arms of the machine.

Reprocessing
1. If fitted, remove the communication unit from the full face
mask.
2. If necessary, remove coarse dirt with a brush.
3. Dräger recommends removing the exhalation valve,
inhalation valve (valve seat and disc) and inner mask and
cleaning them separately. This facilitates the cleaning and
rinsing of the individual components.
4. Place the full face masks in the dedicated devices. Place
small parts such as exhalation valves separately in suitable
receptacles (e.g. washing rack with lid). Position the masks
in such a way that all parts which convey breathing air can
be sufficiently reached by the rinsing jets. Covered areas
may possibly not be cleaned or disinfected. Do not block
the spraying or rinsing device.
5. Start the rinsing programme.
Depending on the procedure, adhere to the appropriate
parameters:
For cleaning and disinfection see chapter 3.1 on page 5
For cleaning without disinfection see chapter 3.2 on
page 6
6. Remove the full face masks from the machine and dry them
at max. 60 °C. When using a drum dryer, repack the masks
in dry, clean bags first. If necessary, use special insert to
reduce the volume of the drum.
7. Perform a visual inspection of the full face masks. Replace
any damaged, severely deformed or sticky components.
8. If there is still any contamination, rinse the respective full
face mask again.
9. If necessary, remove detergent residue on hard plastic
parts with a cloth and a household dishwashing detergent.
10. Perform a functional test and leak test of the full face masks
according to the corresponding instructions for use.
11. Store the full face masks.
