1. To drain oil from the oil pan, position the engine higher
so that the oil can flow out into a container prepared in
advance (see fig. 9 - this is only an illustrative picture
showing a method for positioning the machine for draining
oil from the engine's oil pan into a prepared container).

2. Screw out the bolt for draining oil from the oil pan
(fig. 3, position 10) and screw open the motor oil refill
cap (fig. 3, position 11) and allow the oil to flow out
into the prepared container. Lightly tilt the engine to
ensure that all the oil has flowed out.
3. After draining all the oil, screw the motor oil drain
bolt back in place together with the gasket washer
and tighten it properly.
4. Into the oil pan, pour motor oil according to the instructions
contained in the paragraph Filling motor oil in chapter V.
5. Close the filling opening with the cap.

ATTENTION
y Wipe dry any spilled oil. Use protective gloves to pre-
vent your skin coming into contact with oil. In the event
that oil does comes into contact with skin, thoroughly
wash the affected area with soap and water. Dispose
of the used oil according to environment protection
laws. Do not throw out used oil together with muni-
cipal waste, do not pour it down the drain or on soil,
rather take it to a household waste collection facility.
Transport used oil in closed containers and secure these
containers against damage during transport.

CLEAN THE FOAM FILTER
 A dirty air filter prevents air from flowing to the
carburettor.
1. Remove the foam filter as described in paragraph
"Checking the air filter for clogging and its condition"
in chapter V. according to fig. 7.
2. Wash the filter in a warm detergent solution (not in
the washing machine) and allow it to dry thoroughly.
Do not use organic solvents, e.g. acetone. Handle the
filter gently so as not to damage it.
3. Allow the filter to dry thoroughly.
4. Allow the perfectly dry filter to soak up motor oil
and squeeze out any excess, however do not wring
it as this could tear it. The oil needs to be thoroughly
squeezed out of the filter, otherwise it would prevent
air from flowing through the filter. A greasy air filter
has a filtration effect.

5. Put the filter back in place and correctly put the air
filter cover back on.

REPLACEMENT OF THE SPARK PLUG
 F or the problem-free starting and operation of the
engine, the electrodes of the spark plug must not
be clogged, the spark plug must be correctly set and
installed.
y Do not use a spark plug with an inappropriate tempe-
rature range.
