dition must be performed every time before the
engine is started since a clogged air filter pre-
vents air from flowing to the carburettor, which
results in poor fuel combustion. The foam filter
can be cleaned (washed) in water according to
the following procedure after every 50 hours of
operation, in the event of operation in a dusty
environment every 10 hours or more frequently.
In the event of damage or its intensive clo-
gging, replace it with a new one. Replace the
filter after every 300 hours of operation, in
the event of operation in a dusty environment
replace it for a new one as required.

by a service centre authorized for the HERON® brand.
The performance of the tasks by a different service
centre or by the user themselves will be assessed as
unauthorised tampering with the product, the result
of which is the voiding of the warranty (see. Warranty
conditions).

(4) ATTENTION
According to current regulations in force for the
inspection of electrical equipment, the inspection and
checks of all types of electrical equipment may only
be performed by an inspection technician qualified
for electrical equipment, who is certified to perform
these tasks, i.e. a knowledgeable person. In the event
that the engine is installed in a commercial application
then it is necessary for the operator/employer, in the
sense of labour employment legal regulations and on
the basis of actual operating conditions and potential
risks, to draw up a plan for preventative maintenance
of the engine and the powered equipment as a whole.
In the event that the engine (powered equipment) is
used for non-commercial purposes, then in your own
interest have the electrical parts inspected by a tech-
nician authorised to inspect electrical equipment.
Using poor quality parts or components with dif-
ferent technical parameters may result in serious
damage to the engine, which is not covered by the
free warranty repair.

 T o extend the lifetime of the engine, we recommend
that a complete inspection is performed after 1200
hours of operation, and including repairs if necessa-
ry, including the following tasks:
y the same tasks according to the maintenance plan
after every 300 hours and the following tasks that
may only be performed by an authorised service
centre for the HERON® brand:
y inspection of the crankshaft, piston rod and piston
y inspection of collector rings, carbon brushes of the
alternator or shaft bearings
MAINTENANCE
OF THE ENGINE COOLING FINS
 R egularly inspect the cooling fins of the engine's
cylinders for soiling. In the event of heavy soiling,
the engine may overheat and be damaged.

OIL CHANGE

 D rain oil from a warm engine, when the warm oil
has a lower viscosity (flows better) and also a short
time after the engine is turned off, to ensure that
the oil flows off the walls of the oil pan.
