Your new trimmer is equipped with an automatic choke that does not require
any action on your part. Prior to starting the trimmer, you will need to:
1. Charge the battery pack (See Battery Charging Instructions) and make
sure it is securely installed, and,
2. Fill the fuel tank with the proper oil/gasoline mixture (See Fueling Instruc-
tions).
3. Remove the shipping strap (A) that secures the starter button.
WARNING - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE/OVERRIDE THE CHOKE
"MANUALLY" BY TOUCHING THE CHOKE LINKAGE PARTS LOCATED
ON THE AIR FILTER SIDE. IT WILL DAMAGE THE CHOKE.
CAUTION: Do not start the trimmer while it is connected to the charger and/or
power source.

Check the illustrations to determine which stop switch your unit is equipped
with:
ILL 1:
TO START:
1. Squeeze the throttle trigger (B) flush with the handle--full throttle.
2. Push the blue starter button (C) forward.
3. If trimmer does not start within 15 seconds, push start assist button (D)
ONE time.
THE START ASSIST BUTTON (D) SHOULD NOT BE PUSHED MORE THAN
ONE TIME BETWEEN EACH ATTEMPT TO START THE UNIT. IF PUSHED
MORE THAN ONE TIME BETWEEN EACH ATTEMPT, THE ENGINE WILL
FLOOD.
4. Repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 until trimmer starts.
5. Once engine starts, release the starter button, continue to hold the throttle
trigger in full throttle position for 30 to 45 seconds to warm engine.
TO STOP:
1. Release the throttle trigger (B).
2. Push and hold the red stop button (E) on the throttle handle until the engine
stops.
ILL 2:
TO START:
1. Move switch (E) to RUN "I" position.
2. Squeeze the throttle trigger (B) flush with the handle--full throttle.
3. Push the blue starter button (C) forward.
4. If trimmer does not start within 15 seconds, push start assist button (D)
ONE time.
THE START ASSIST BUTTON (D) SHOULD NOT BE PUSHED MORE THAN
ONE TIME BETWEEN EACH ATTEMPT TO START THE UNIT. IF PUSHED
MORE THAN ONE TIME BETWEEN EACH ATTEMPT, THE ENGINE WILL
FLOOD.
5. Repeat steps 1, 2,3 and 4 until trimmer starts.
6. Once engine starts, release the starter button, continue to hold the throttle
trigger in full throttle position for 30 to 45 seconds to warm engine.
TO STOP:
1. Release the throttle trigger (B).
2. Move red stop switch (E) to the OFF "O" position.
NOTES:
1. On the first start of the day, a cold engine may not start in 15 seconds. This
is normal.
2. A warm engine will normally start much faster. Using the start assist but-
ton on a warm engine increases the risk of flooding!
3. You can expect approximately 40 cold engine starts from a fully charged
battery pack.
4. Your trimmer is designed to start at temperatures between 35 and 100 de-
grees F (2-38 degrees C).
5. If the trimmer runs out of fuel, it might not restart immediately after refueling
without pressing the start assist button ONE time.
CAUTION: Do not force the starter button into starting position without first
squeezing the trigger. To do so will damage the controls.

Le débroussailleur neuf est équipé d'un starter automatique qui ne demande
aucune action de la part de l'opérateur. Avant de faire démarrer le débroussailleur,
il faut avoir :
1. Charger la batterie (voir les instructions de charge de la batterie) et vérifier
qu'elle est bien installée et
2. Remplir le réservoir d'un mélange approprié d'huile et d'essence (voir les
instructions de remplissage du réservoir).
3. Retirer la courroie d'expédition (A) qui retient le bouton de démarrage.
ATTENTION – IL NE FAUT PAS ESSAYER D'ENGAGER MANUELLEMENT
L'ÉTRANGLEUR EN TOUCHANT LES PIÈCES DE L'ENTRANGLEUR SUR
LE CÔTÉ DU FILTRE À AIR, SOUS PEINE DE L'ENDOMMAGER.
PRUDENCE – Ne pas démarrer le débrousailleur quand il est branché au
chargeur ou au secteur.
