b) Changing the soldering tip on the soldering tweezers

Caution, burn hazard! Before changing the soldering tip, turn off the soldering station and let the soldering
tweezers cool down completely.
• Pull the front piece out of the holder (1).
• Insert new soldering tweezers (2), ensuring that they are inserted in the correct orientation.

c) Wire sponge (dry sponge)

The wire sponge (also know as a dry sponge) in the storage hold-
ers allows for easy removal of solder residue on the soldering
iron and soldering tweezers. Using conventional water-soaked
sponges reduces the temperature of the soldering tip (requiring
subsequent heating) and decreases its lifespan.
After prolonged use, it may be useful to remove residual solder
from the wire sponge to ensure that you can continue to remove
solder.
To do this, take the wire sponge out of the support holders (if nec-
essary, wait until any hot solder on the sponge has completely
cooled down). Shake out the wire sponge; dispose of solder resi-
due in an environmentally-friendly manner.

d) General information

Repair work must be done by a technician. The same applies for maintenance procedures other than those described
in these operating instructions.
Before cleaning, switch the product off and unplug the mains plug from the mains socket.
Allow the entire product to cool down completely.
The product should only be cleaned with a clean, soft and dry cloth. Dust can easily be removed with the help of a
clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, as these may damage the housing (discol-
ouring) or prevent the product from functioning properly.
