Operation

Transport the BEA 070 only in an upright position via
the carrying handle. Select the installation location
such that the BEA 070 cannot fall and is always cor-
rectly positioned (carrying handle at top).
4.1

Power supply

The power supply is obtained from the lighting system.
The BEA 070 can operate at between 100 V and 240 V,
50/60 Hz.

Prior to start-up, make sure the lighting system volt-
age coincides with the set voltage of the BEA 070. If
the BEA 070 is operated outdoors, it is advisable to
use a voltage source protected by a residual current-
operated circuit breaker. Only operate the unit in dry
conditions!

To avoid the formation of condensation, allow the
BEA 070 to adjust to ambient temperature before
switching it on.

The details of the power supply are provided on
a sticker on the back of the BEA 070.

Switching on/off

4.2.1

Switching on the unit

1. Plug the power cord into the BEA 070, and attach to
the holes (Fig. 1, Pos. 4) with a cable tie to provide
strain relief.
2. Connect the BEA 070 to the lighting system via the
power cord.
3. Press the On/Off button.

The LED flashes alternately orange and green (Fig. 1,
Pos. 12).

Switching off the unit

First exit from the exhaust gas test step, and wait
for the fan to stop running. Only then, switch off the
BEA 070.
1. Press the On/Off button for more than two seconds.

LED is not lit, the BEA 070 is off.

alone mode
The following description for installing the BEA-AU-OBD
system software and the AU vehicle data and configur-
ing the BEA 070 only applies if the BEA 070 is to run in
stand-alone mode.
4.�.1 Installing the ���-�U-O�D software

Pay attention to the system requirements before
starting installation.

Only plug in the Bluetooth USB adapter when
prompted to do so during software installation.
1. Close all open applications.
2. Insert the "SystemSoft BEA-AU-OBD" CD in the DVD
drive.
3. Start "Windows Explorer".
4. Start 'D:\R�S�TUP.�X�' (D = DVD drive letter).
 Setup starts.
5. Confirm with <Continue>.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

The Bluetooth driver is installed at the end of instal-
lation. During installation, plug in the Bluetooth USB
adapter when prompted to do so.
7. Reboot the PC/laptop to successfully conclude
installation.

4.�.2 Installing �U vehicle data
1. Close all open applications.
2. Insert the "CompacSoft AU" CD in the DVD drive.
3. Start "Windows Explorer".
4. Start 'D:\R�S�TUP.�X�' (D = DVD drive letter).
 Setup starts.
5. Select the setup language and confirm with <OK>.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

CompacSoft AU data are installed.

The CompacSoft AU (AU vehicle data or AU motor-
cycle data) have copy protection. A check for Com-
pacSoft AU (1 687 000 985 or 1 687 005 052) takes
place. For this check, the original CD must be in-
serted in the drive of the PC/laptop. Always keep the
original CD to hand near the exhaust gas analyzer.
