Connection and operating Elements

See illustration on the fold-out page
(1) Operating display
The operating display lights up when the device is switched on.
(2) Mains switch POWER
The mixer is switched on or off using this switch.
At the position "I" (ON) the mixer is switched on, the first left LED of the recording
level display lights up.
At the position "0" "OFF", the mixer is switched off.
(3) LIGHT-BNC connection
A swan-neck lamp for illuminating the mixer can be connected at this jack. A corre-
sponding, suitable swan-neck lamp can be obtained as an accessory.
Do not fail to observe the technical connection data for 12-V alter-
nating current and a maximum connection load of 5W. An incor-
rectly selected lamp can lead to damage to the mixer and/or the
lamp.
4 x 7-band equalisers
Using these controls, 7 frequency ranges (bands) can be raised or lowered specifi-
cally for the channel (right/left). The 7-band equaliser has an effect on the output sig-
nal.
Position "ON"
= maximum reduction
Position "-12"
= maximum raising
Position "0"
= no influence through the control, linear frequency response is
set.
R CHANNEL
= equaliser control for the right channel
L CHANNEL
= equaliser control for the left channel
You can find more explanations about the equaliser in a subsequent part of this
manual.
(5) ECHO-SPEED control
Use this control to set the repeat speed ("delay time") of the echo.
(6) ECHO STRENGTH control
This control determines the number of echo repeats.

• Future adjustments of the output volume only need to be carried out through the
MASTER fader.
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are
not overloaded. The reproduction may not be distorted under any
circumstances.
If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume on
the amplifier has not been set too high and the mixer has been set
correctly, switch off the mixer immediately and check the connec-
tion. If there is no error in the connection, please contact a spe-
cialist.
Listening-in, pre-listening
Before you plug in or put on the headphones, always turn the vol-
ume of the headphone to minimum (control CUE LEVEL (10) to
position "0"). Only increase the volume to a degree which is pleas-
ant for you after you have put on the headphones.
- Insert the headphones into the headphone jack (9) on the mixer.
o Using the selector switch MONITOR SELECTOR (11), you can determine whether
you can hear the output signal or the input signal of the individual channels of the
mixer on the headphones.
Switch position
CHANNEL1/CHANNEL2
The switch combines the microphone inputs CHANNEL1/CHANNEL2 so that on the
headphones one microphone channel can be heard on the left and the other micro-
phone channel on the right headphone earpiece.
CHANNEL3, CHANNEL4, CHANNEL5 or CHANNEL6
The corresponding inputs are reproduced in stereo on the headphones.
In these switching positions, a so-called "pre-listening" is possible. That means that
you can hear the input signal without it being reproduced on the connected amplifi-
er. This will enable you, for example in cross-fading/mixing, to find the correct start-
ing point.
It is only possible to "pre-listen" on one channel. Pre-listening on sev-
eral channels at the same time is not possible.
