Select input

Using the input selection switches (18), select the desired inputs.
Minimise the volume using the corresponding channel fader
before an input selection switch is changed over. Due to the dif-
ferent volumes of the input sources, sudden, excessive volume
could otherwise be the result.
Set input level.
• Using the level controls "PRE-SET" (16), adapt the mixer input to the output signal
of the connected reproduction device concerned.
• Start the connected reproduction device, e.g. CD player.
• Set the control PRE-SET (16) to the central position, you will notice it snapping in.
• Adapt the input sensitivity of the mixer now using the control PRE-SET (16). Make
sure that the no signal is distorted (level too high).
• Carry out the setting for all channels.
• Adapt all channel levels in addition using the control PRE-SET (16).
• All channels should have about the same volume so that, in the case of cross-fad-
ing between the channels, no great differences in the volume arise meaning that
you have to regulate the output signal.
Set MASTER output level
• With the aid of the switch MASTER HIGH/LOW (26), adapt the output level of the
mixer to the input sensitivity of the connected amplifier (observe the amplifier oper-
ating instructions "Technical Data").
• Switch on the amplifier, turn down the volume of the amplifier.
• Slide the MASTER fader (25) right to the top.
• Using the control PRE-SET-MASTER (27), you can carry out a basic adaptation of
the output level in addition to the MASTER LOW-HIGH switch (26). Adjust the mix-
er output in such a manner that the downstream amplifier is not distorted and the
output signal of the mixer is not appreciably higher than the individual input signals
of the mixer.
• Observe in doing so the recording level display (24). The indicator should, as far as
possible, not exceed the "0dB" value as otherwise distortion of the music signal
can occur.
• Turn the volume control of the connected amplifier to a suitable volume.

(7) ECHO BY-PASS switch
The echo feature is switched on or off using this switch.
The echo feature is active if the switch is held down.
(8) EQ BY-PASS switch
The sound control is switched on/off through the 7-band equaliser using this switch.
The equaliser feature is active if this switch is held down.
(9) Headphones jack
A commercially available headphone with a 6.3-mm jack bushing can be connected
at this jack. The input signals can be pre-heard on the headphones or you can listen
in on the output signal. Only use headphones with a minimum impedance of 600
Ohm.
Turn the MONITOR LEVEL (10) control to the left stop "0" (the vol-
ume is then on minimum) before plugging the headphones in or
out or switching the mixer on or off! Otherwise your hearing or the
headphones could be damaged through sudden volume peaks.
(10) MONITOR LEVEL control
Using this control, you can set the volume of the headphones. Position "0" means
minimum volume, position "10" means maximum volume.
(11) MONITOR selection control
Using this switch, you can select the channel which is to be played back over the
headphones at the jack (9).
