Listening-in, pre-listening

Plug the headphones into the headphones jack before putting
them on and, if the volume on the headphones is too high, reduce
this with the aid of the appropriate channel-GAIN control.
Please observe that, in doing this, you also reduce the input signal!
• Using the monitor control (6), you can determine whether you can hear the output
signal or the input signal of the mixer on the headphones.
Monitor control (6) in position "PGM" = output signal (MASTER signal) is repro-
duced on the headphones.
Monitor control (6) in position "CUE" = input signal (channel signal) is reproduced
on the headphones. In this position, so-called "pre-listening" is possible. That
means, you can hear the input signal without its being reproduced on the connect-
ed amplifier.
• To be able to pre-listen to a channel, the CUE switch (12) of the channel which is
to be pre-heard has to be put into the position "CUE" in addition to the monitor
control (6).
CUE switch (12) in position "ON" = channel pre-listening switched on.
CUE switch (12) in position "ON" = channel pre-listening switched off.
Cross-fading/mixing
• Using the CROSS-FADER (11), you can cross-fade/mix between the signals of the
channels set with the ASSIGN switches (10).
• The one channel is faded out on operating the CROSS-FADER (11) (becomes qui-
eter), at the same time, the other channel is faded in (becomes louder).
In the central position, both channels are reproduced equally.
• The CROSS-FADER (11) is by-passed using the PUNCH buttons (9). The signal
which is faded out over the CROSS-FADER is reproduced at full volume as long as
the corresponding PUNCH button is pressed.
Setting DJ microphone
• Move the fader "DJ-MIC" (20) right down.
• Speak into the microphone.
• Increase the volume of the microphone slowly by turning the fader "DJ-MIC" (20)
upwards until the desired level has been reached.

Connection and operating elements

See illustration on the fold-out page
(1) ON/OFF mains switch (POWER)
The mixer is switched on or off using this switch. The device is switched on when the
switch is in the "ON" position and the operating indicator (2) lights up. In the position
"OFF", the mixer is switched off.
(2) Operating indicator
The operating indicator lights up when the device is switched on.
(3) BOOTH control
Using this control, you can set the level at the BOOTH output (28).
Position "0" = minimum level
Position "10" = maximum level
(4) BALANCE control
This control will alter the volume ratio between the left and the right channel of the
stereo output signal at the MASTER output (30).
Turn control to position "L" = right output signal is reduced
Turn control to position "R" = left output signal is reduced
(5) MASTER control
Using this control, you can set the level at the MASTER output (30).
Control in position "0" = minimum level
Control in position "10" = maximum level
(6) MONITOR control
Using the control, the share of the CUE (channel input signal) or of the PGM signals
(mixer output signal) can be set at the headphone output.
By turning the control in the direction "CUE", the channel selected with the CUE (12)
switches is pre-heard on the headphones. By turning the control in the direction
"PGM", the signal from the MASTER output becomes louder on the headphones. If
the control is fully in position PGM, only the MASTER signal is reproduced on the
headphones.
(7) Headphones jack
At this 6.3-mm jack bushing, commercially available headphones can be connected
with a 6.3mm jack bush. The input signals can be pre-heard on the headphones or
you can listen in on the output signal. Only use headphones with a minimum imped-
ance of 600 Ohm.
