Setting 9
Only switch the hob on at setting 9 if you want to boil water. This setting is too
high for heating butter or milk and much too high for defrosting.
Consult the cooking tables on pages 115 and 116 to help you learn the
techniques.
Setting 8
Setting 8 is the grill setting. This setting is suitable for grilling meat. Setting 9 is
far too fast for this; the milk constituents in the margarine burn before the
margarine has melted.
Residual heat indicator
The indicator shows that the cooking zone is still hot and goes out as soon as
the glass top reaches a safe.
Residual heat is shown in the display with a
blinking H.
Timer function
You can use the clock as a cooking timer or as a switch-off timer for all cooking
zones.
1. Put a pan on the cooking zone.
2. Switch on the cooking zone.
3. Set a time (0-99 minutes) with the + and -
buttons of the timer.
4. Link the desired cooking zone to the timer
with the link button.
The switch-off timer operates on all cooking zones. The display of a cooking
zone that has been linked will vary in light intensity.

You can change the time set any time you like. At the end of the cooking time,
you hear a beep. You can switch the beep off at the end of the cooking time by
pressing the clock's + or - button. If you do not switch the beep off, it will stop
automatically after 30 minutes.
Cooking-time limiter
The cooking-time limiter switches the cooking zones off after a certain time.
The cooking-time limiter is a safety function of your cooking appliance. It will
operate if you forget to switch off your hob.

The clock is a cooking timer. At the end of the time set the
settings of the cooking zones will not change.
The switch-off timer will stop the cooking zone left front.
