11.2.2 Peak Value Detection
The target objects may show locally differing temperatures. Due to the distance-dependent field of view of the sensor,
moving objects would result in fluctuations in the output signal. Peak value detection can be used to hold a local
maximum of the output signal for a settable number of successive measurements.
Example: When there is scaling on steel peak detection makes it possible to display the temperature of the steel while
suppressing scaled and therefore cooler locations.

1. Turn on peak value detection with [▲] or turn it off with [▼]. Use [↵].
2. Set number of measurements for holding the peak value and confirm
with [↵].
