4) Insert the plantar pad (8) in the heel container (see fig. 6).
5) Carry out an initial weight bearing test with the longitudinal arch piece (see fig. 7, see fig. 8)
and the forefoot cap (3) in place (see fig. 9).
INFORMATION: When the heel is under maximum weight, use the opening cut in the
heel container to check the degree of relief provided by the orthosis.
6) Optional: Adapt the heel container to the individual patient using milling (see fig. 11) or heat
(see fig. 12), then widening it as necessary.
7) Optional: Fix the the compensation sole (9) with hook-and-loop strap (10) to further increase
the height of the longitudinal arch.
8) Position the plantar pad (8) in the heel area so that it maintains continual contact with the
heel.
INFORMATION: During the course of therapy, compression pads (7) are inserted
under the plantar pad according to the therapy plan and serve the gradual build-up of
weight borne by the calcaneus.
9) Mount the hook-and-loop closure and the guide loop (4) at the instep using the supplied set
ting nuts and screws (5) (see fig. 13). Do this by attaching the setting nut from the inside and
applying the strap from the outside (see fig. 14).
INFORMATION: The longitudinal arch piece must be removed temporarily before
mounting the hook-and-loop closure.
10) Optional: Cut the calf pad (1) to the required size (see fig. 15).
11) Attach the adhesive strips (2) (see fig. 16) and fix the calf pad in the heel container.
12) Optional: Cut the sides of the forefoot cap (see fig. 19). The two pieces can then be riveted
or sewn together.
13) Push the forefoot cap over the heel container until the desired shoe size is set (scaling dis
played on the side of the heel container).
14) Fix the forefoot cap to the heel container using screws (6) (see fig. 20).
15) Position the foot in the orthosis (see fig. 21).
16) Close all hook-and-loop closures one after the other, ensuring they exert even pressure (see
fig. 22).
17) Close the zip on the forefoot cap (see fig. 23).
18) Carry out a weight bearing test with the fully assembled orthosis.
INFORMATION: Use a strip of paper in the opening cut in the heel container to check
the degree of relief provided by the orthosis (see fig. 24). To do so, place the strip of
paper between the heel and the plantar pad. When the calcaneus is bearing the user's
full weight, pull the paper strip out of the orthosis in one even stroke. There should be
slight resistance as you pull the paper strip out of the orthosis, but it should not tear.
