TOOTH SEPARATION WITH V3
Unlike a traditional wedge, the Wave Wedge will
not separate the teeth to any significant degree. Its
function is primarily to secure, adapt and seal the
matrix below the gingival margin. The V3 Ring has
been designed to apply the ideal force required to
separate the teeth sufficiently to easily compensate
for the thickness of the matrix and achieve a
predictable, tight contact area.
TRIODENT V3 RING HYGIENE
CROSS CONTAMINATION
Do not reuse used matrices or wedges.
Properly dispose of the used and/or contaminated
matrices and wedges in accordance with local
regulations. During incineration, wedges may
produce irritating and highly toxic gases.
PREVENTING CONTAMINATION
A light smear of petroleum jelly on the V3 Ring tines
before use will help prevent bonding agents and
composites sticking.
REMOVING CONTAMINANTS
It is strongly recommended that rings are
reprocessed as soon as is reasonably practical
following use in order to facilitate cleaning and
minimise the likelihood of restoration material
adhesion and build-up on the tines.
PRE-STERILIZATION
Rinse all excess soil from the ring.
Gently scrub the ring using a soft nylon brush in
warm water.
Afterward, rinse rings in warm water.
ULTRASONIC CLEANING
Most ultrasonic cleaning solutions will not affect the V3
Ring, although chemicals in some cleaners may cause
tine discoloration. The discoloration is only cosmetic,
but if that is a concern put the rings in a beaker with
a water/detergent solution and place that in the
ultrasonic cleaner to prevent contact with chemicals.
AUTOMATED WASHER DISINFECTOR
Triodent placement forceps, pin tweezers and retaining
rings can also be reprocessed in a washer-disinfector.
1. Use only properly maintained, calibrated, and
approved washer-disinfector according to
ISO 15883-1*.
2. Place devices in the washer-disinfector allowing
water and detergent to enter and drain off from device
openings and follow washer-disinfector's Instructions
for Use.
3. Run washer-disinfector program with A0 value
≥ 3000 (e.g. 5 min at ≥ 90°C) using appropriate
detergents*. Devices can be reprocessed by washer-
disinfector for up to 500 times.
*For example Miele Washer-Disinfector G7835 CD
using program DESIN vario TD with neodisher®
MediClean forte (alkaline detergent) and
neodisher® Z (acid neutralization and cleaning
detergent); both detergents from Dr. Weigert,
Hamburg, Germany (not products or registered
trademarks of Dentsply Sirona).
STERILIZATION
Steam-autoclave V3 Rings at 134°C/273°F for
at least 3 minutes. Avoid leaving the rings in an
autoclave overnight or for long periods, as this
may cause staining from the autoclave itself.
Do not use chemical sterilization techniques.
Chemical sterilization will void warranty.
Note: Use of other sterilization procedures/
methods is at the discretion and sole responsibility
of the practitioner.
POST STERILIZATION
Allow forceps, pin tweezers and retaining rings
to dry prior to storage. Forceps and pin tweezers
require no additional maintenance and should not
be oiled or greased.
STORAGE
Store in a clean, dry environment away from
moisture or excessive humidity. Keep out of
sunlight. Keep away from flame or source of
ignition.
