8. Assembly and Connection

a) Preparation
Observe Chapter „5. Safety Information".
Attention!
The product must only be installed by a qualified electrical specialist (e.g. electrician) who is
familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE)!
Improper work at the mains voltage endangers not only yourself, but also others!
If you do not have the expertise required for installation, do not install the device yourself but
ask a specialist.
• Always observe the right assembly position of the surveillance camera; it must only be installed so that
the housing with the camera and the motion detector points downwards.
Otherwise, water may enter, which will destroy the product. Moreover, there is the risk of a fatal
electric shock!
• Only mount the product on a stable underground, e.g. masonry. Depending on underground, suitable
screws and poss. dowels must be used.
• The surveillance camera must be installed so that it is outside of the range of children.
• The horizontal opening angle of the motion detector is about 52°, the horizontal opening angle of the
camera is about 48°. Select the assembly site accordingly so that the desired monitoring area is in the
„sight area" of the motion detector or camera.
Depending on the present building situation, a suitable subconstruction is required before installation of
the surveillance camera.
• Select the mounting height depending on the local situation.
We recommend a mounting height of at least 2.5 m so that the SD/SDHC memory card cannot be
reached anymore without climbing aid. This is used as sabotage protection and makes it more
difficult to remove the SD/SDHC memory card without authorisation.
• The surveillance camera must be protected with a 10/16 A fuse in the on-site sub-distribution. A residual-
current circuit-breaker must be used upstream of this.
• The surveillance camera must only be installed when voltage-free/powered down.
Turn off the power on all poles of the mains supply by removing the respective electric circuit fuse or
switching off the circuit breaker and then deactivating the associated fault circuit interrupter. Protect it
from unauthorised re-activation, e.g. with a danger sign.
Check that the mains connection is free of current with an appropriate tester.
