PROPER USE

Your machine is a "harvesting baler" designed to be
towed and operated by an agricultural tractor and
destined to harvest in swaths wet or dry crops and
package them in cylindrical bales: any other utiliz-
ation must be authorized by the manufacturer.
Components or equipment not distributed by Galli-
be fitted on the machine.

These applications could compromise the machine
regular operation, the operator's or other people's
safety, as well as the machine stability and reliability.
This machine can work on longitudinal and cross
slopes up to 18%.
Make sure the tractor can safely overcome these
slopes.
GENERAL AND OPERATING SAFETY PRE-
CAUTIONS
It is strictly forbidden to operate or have the

machine operated by those who have not
read and understood the instructions of this
manual, as well as by non- -authorized staff,
or when unhealthy.
Most agricultural accidents can be avoided
D
by observing some basic safety rules.
Your "baler" has been designed bearing safety in
D
mind.
Nevertheless, accidents can be prevented by
acting cautiously and carefully.
It is too late to think about accident prevention
once the accident has occurred!
Carefully read this manual before reaching the
D
machine, operating it, carrying out maintenance
operations or other. A few minutes' reading save
time and future failures.
Carefully read all the safety decals of the ma-
D
chine and comply with the instructions.
Immediately replace damaged or missing decals
and possibly order them by your local dealer.
DANGER: many of the illustrations in this ma-
nual show the machine with standard guards,
or the guards - - required by law in different
countries - - open or removed for better illustrating a
special detail or adjustment.
The machine must never be operated in these
conditions. For your safety, always make sure all
the safety guards are closed or fitted correctly
before starting the machine.
Before any filling and maintenance operation, al-

ways release the PTO and switch the tractor off.
Always wear the personal protection devices
such as goggles, cut--proof gloves, safety shoes,
ear muffs, etc...
Before starting work, familiarize with control de-

vices and their functions.
While harvesting, never stand on the moving or
D
operating baler.
When there's someone standing next to the ma-
D
chine hazardous area, the operator should stop
the machine immediately and send away the by-
standers.
Never carry people or animals on the baler.
D
It is strictly forbidden to place the machine next
D
to or under terraces, balconies, raised barns and
platforms.
Always keep children far from the baler.
D
Always keep a first aid kit within easy reach.
D
It is advisable to keep a suitable fire extinguisher
D
(approx. capacity 6 kg and fire class ABC) in a
tractor part within easy reach from the ground.

Check that the tractor couplings to the baler

match correctly (tow hook, eyebolt, hydraulic
lines, electrical lines, etc...) and that the braking
system is suitable to brake the baler as well.
