SELECTING THE CUTTING
MODE (HRG466XB ONLY)
SWITCHING THE CLIP DIRECTOR
The cutting mode can be switched by operating the clip director [1].
1. Release the cutting-means control lever and the drive clutch
lever.
2. Push the unlock button [2] and turn the clip director lever to
select the cutting mode.

- Grass collection / Rear ejection position [3]: all the grass
cuttings are ejected at the rear of the machine, the grass
cuttings are not mulched. With the grass catcher, the ejected
grass will be collected into the grass catcher. Without grass
catcher, the grass will be ejected to the ground. See
mounting or removing the grass catcher.
- Mulching position [4]: the grass is not ejected at the rear of the
machine, but is finely cut and deposited on the lawn. The grass
cuttings chopped up in this way decompose and form a natural
compost which can produce a quarter of the annual fertilisation
requirement of your lawn.
NOTE:
• Mulching is a natural fertilisation technique. The grass is no
longer collected in the grass catcher, but is finely cut and
deposited on the lawn.
• In addition to its fertilising role, mulching protects the cut, limits
evaporation of water during hot periods and relieves you of the
task of collecting the grass.

REAR EJECTION
If you do not want to collect the cut grass, the machine can be used
without the grass catcher in the mulching position [3]. In this case,
the grass ejected is guided to the ground by the discharge cover.
