Some DVDs and CDs are coded with the encryption
signals of the authorisation classes established by the
Motion Picture Association. The eight authorisation
classes are:
1 K I D S A F E
2 G : ( " G e n e r a l " ) : For all age groups
3 P G : ("Parental guidance") Parental guidance
recommended
4 P G 1 3 Parental guidance strongly recommended;
some scenes not suitable for children under 13
5 P G R : ("Parental Guidance Restriction") parental
guidance recommended for young people under 17
6 R : ("Restriction") parental guidance strongly
recommended for young people under 17
6 N C 1 7 : Not for young people under 17
8 A D U L T : Only for adults
For example , if you have inserted a DVD that is coded
with authorisation class 7 (NC 17) or 8 (Adult) and you
have selected authorisation classes 1 to 6, a message
appears and the viewer must enter a password. Parts of
a DVD – certain scenes, for example – may also be
encoded with an authorisation class or a range of
authorisation classes.
Default
Select the R E S E T entry and confirm with ENTER. All
settings are reset to the defaults.
Any new password is retained.
