Product Information

H Intended use
▶ Use the product only to control heating systems.
Any other use is considered inappropriate. We take no
responsibility for damage caused through incorrect use.
H Installation, commissioning and maintenance
Installation, commissioning and maintenance must
only be carried out by a competent person.
▶ Never install the product in wet rooms.
▶ Only use genuine spare parts.
H Electrical work
Electrical work must only be carried out by a qualified
electrician.
▶ Before starting electrical work:
– Isolate all poles of the mains power supply and
secure against reconnection.
– Make sure the mains voltage is disconnected.
▶ The product requires different voltages.
Do not connect the extra-low voltage side to the
mains voltage or vice versa.
▶ Also observe the connection diagrams of other
system components.
H Handover to the user
When handing over, instruct the user how to operate
the heating system and inform the user about its
operating conditions.
▶ Explain how to operate the heating system and draw
the user's attention to any safety relevant action
▶ Explain that conversions and repairs must only be
carried out by a competent person.
▶ Point out the need for inspections and maintenance
for safe and environmentally-compatible operation.
▶ Leave the installation instructions and the
operating instructions with the user for
safekeeping.
H Damage caused by frost
The solar system can freeze if it is switched off:
▶ Observe the notices regarding frost protection.
▶ Due to the additional functions, e.g. DHW heating or
anti-seizing function, the system should always be
left on.
▶ Correct any faults immediately.

Product Information
The module allows an alternative heat source to be connected to a EMS
control system. An alternative heat source might be a wood stove with
water routing or biomass boiler.
The system can be extended to incorporate an additional wall mounted
boiler or floor standing boiler, or also solar or other external heat sources
for heating the buffer cylinder. See for example the wiring diagram on
page 92 at the end of the document.
• The purpose of the module is to connect an alternative heat source to
a EMS control system. As an option, the alternative heat source can
also be controlled.
• The purpose of this module is to block/release a conventional heat
source with EMS plus.
• The purpose of this module is to control charging and discharging of
the cylinder with corresponding pump assembly and valves.
• The purpose of the module is to record the buffer cylinder, system
flow, outside temperature and the flow, flue gas and return
temperatures in the alternative heat source.
The combination options for the modules are shown in the connection
diagrams.

System requirements

• For the module to communicate via the EMS plus BUS interface
(Energy Management System), the following control unit must be
incorporated into the system:
– Logamatic RC310 from software version NF18.04
• The module only communicates with conventional heat sources with
the EMS plus control system (not suitable for heat sources of the
product series GB112, GB132, GB135, GB142, GB152).
• GB182i ≤ 14KW and all GB182i combi boilers are not suitable for
operation with an alternative heat source. This would pose a danger
of overheating because the DHW heating is restricted to max. 60°C.
• The interlock of the conventional heat source via EMS plus is
currently only supported when using the following control unit series:
– Logamatic MC110 from V1.44 (> 04/2018)
• The AM200 module provides the option of blocking the conventional
heat source if there is sufficient heat in the buffer cylinder.
Alternatively, this can also be blocked viaEMS plus or via the terminal
OEV. For the interlock to take place via terminal OEV, the CH and DHW
mode must be implemented via the buffer cylinder in combination
with wall-mounted gas-fired indoor units. In this case, hydraulic
configurations in which DHW is charged directly by the wall-mounted
gas-fired indoor unit (without buffer storage cylinder) cannot be
implemented.
• When using a separate cylinder primary pump for DHW heating in
wall mounted conventional heat sources, one or more heating circuit
modules MM100 (address 9 or 10) are required to control the DHW
function.
• To charge the buffer cylinder via the AM200, the alternative heat
source must be water routing and must allow installation of a flow
temperature sensor. If the flow temperature sensor does not become
warm when the pump is not running, a flue gas temperature sensor is
also required.
• To control the alternative heat source, it must have a suitable
connection (volt free contact for On/Off signal and an optional 0-10 V
interface).
• An alternative heat source with return temperature increase via
electrical mixer requires a return temperature sensor downstream of
the mixer.
• To ensure the heating system works efficiently, use a type PR...-5
buffer cylinder or newer model.
