Tensioning screws PT3.4x14 are used for tension-
ing the locking mechanism. When carrying out
maintenance work on the safety guard or on the
locking mechanism make sure that these screws are
used, and not longer or shorter ones. Failure to do so will
pose an accident hazard due to blocking of the spindle
wheel or to inadequate fastening of the safety guard.

right, or in the gearbox head at the top.

tArting current limitAtion
The electronically controlled soft starting provides for
smooth starting of the machine. Due to the low machine
starting current a 16 A fuse is adequate.

emperAture dependent overloAd protection
For protection against overheating, when a critical tem-
perature is reached the electronic safety feature switches
into the cool-down mode. Then the machine continues to
run at approx: (UWK 10-R125) 3,200 rpm, (UWK 10-R150)
3,100 rpm and the electronic constant speed control is
deactivated. After a cool-down time of approx. 10 - 20
sec. the machine is again ready for operation. Turn the
machine off and back on again to activate the electronic
constant speed control. When the machine is at operating
temperature the temperature-dependent overload protec-
tion reacts correspondingly earlier time.

vervoltAge restArting protection
On short-time outage of the power voltage (pulled power
connector, unstable power voltage etc.) the machine will
stop. On recovery of the power voltage the machine has
to be turned off and back on again. The machine is then
ready for operation.

otAtion of geArBox heAd
The gearbox head can be rotated relative to the
stator housing in steps of 90° which enables the
ON/OFF switch to be brought into a more easily
accessible position for special work operations.
Remove the four screws and carefully rotate the gearbox
head into the desired position, making sure that it does
not lift off the motor housing by more than 1 mm. Screw in
the screws and tighten down.

Use only grinding tools whose admissible maxi-
mum speed is equal to or higher than the no-load
speed of the machine.
Use only clean tools!

Clean backing flange, clamping nut and backing flange
surface of the grinding disc.
Place backing flange on the grinding spindle with the lon-
gitudinal groove down.
