General Instructions

Installation and/or repair work is only to be performed
by qualified and trained customer service personnel
from Robert Bosch GmbH or organizations commissi-
oned by Robert Bosch GmbH. No warranty claims will
be accepted if devices have been opened or modified
by non-authorized persons.
Electrical systems and equipment are only to be started
up if they are in proper working order (see also to test
system information 0108_084). This requirement is
deemed to have been fulfilled if compliance with the
rules of electrical engineering practice is ensured on
completion of modification or repair work (initial test).
This requires the execution of tests according to the
type and scope of measures defined in the electrotech-
nical rules (e.g. in Germany the German Social Acci-
dent Insurance DGUV V3). In Germany, the nature and
extent of testing are specified in VDE 0701/0702 Part
1. The corresponding legislation of the country concer-
ned must be observed

3. Check the voltage supply
KTS modules are supplied with power either by way of
the power supply unit provided or via the OBD interface
in the vehicle. The status of the power supply is indica-
ted by the ON/OFF LED.

3.2 Faults when using power supply unit
Check power supply unit

If a reference KTS module is available, it can be used
to test the functionality of the power supply unit
beforehand.
1. Unplug the plug of the power supply unit at the KTS
module.
2. Measure the output voltage of the power supply unit
at the plug, see illustration.

than ± 10% of the specified output voltage ––> replace
KTS module.

than ± 10% of the specified output voltage ––> replace
power supply unit.
