• Always observe the greater height of your vehicle with mounted bicycle on the roof, particularly when driving on boulevards,
tunnels, underground and multi-storey car parks.
• The bicycle cannot protrude beyond the outer contours of the vehicle.
• Before each journey, check whether the roof-mounted luggage rack, the bicycle holder and the bicycle are secured and firmly
mounted.
• After having travelled a while, check whether the roof load is still firmly secured and check this afterwards at regular intervals.
• Never drive faster than 130 km/h when the bicycle rack is mounted.
• Do not travel with the bicycle rack empty. Store it in the boot of your vehicle. This prevents increased fuel consumption and
protects the rack.
• The driver is always responsible for ensuring that the load and the load securing meet the regulations.
5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 COMPLETING THE MOUNTING BRACKET
The bicycle rack attachment must be assembled first. Take all of the components out of the packaging and set them out clearly. Check the scope
of delivery. Every stage is described and you are shown which components are required for the assembly of the bike rack attachment.
1 x Wheel track with mounting bracket
1 x Lock screw M8 x 120
1 x Coil spring 10 x 80
1 x Knob nut M8
3 x Washer M8
Insert the lock screw through the rail of the mounting bracket from the outside, onto the end with the folding
threaded bolt. Then, in the following order insert a washer, the coil spring and another washer onto the lock
screw. Press the coil spring together and insert the lock screw through the drill hole of the mounting bracket's
other rail. Press both rails together until the threading of the lock screw protrudes about 15 mm out of the
rail. Insert the third washer onto the lock screw and then turn the knob nut onto the threading, see Image 2.
5.2 MOUNTING THE BICYCLE RACK ATTACHMENT ONTO THE ROOF RACK
1 x Wheel track with mounting bracket
1x Upper plate (A)
1x Lower plate (B)
3 x U-bolt
6 x Knob nut M5
6 x Washer M5
Place the wheel track on the roof rack in such a way that the base plate is positioned directly over
a crossbar. Insert a u-bolt through the base plate from below. Place two washers and knob nuts
onto the threading of the u-bolt (see Image 4). Tighten the nuts lightly. Do the same with the
other u-bolt on the other side of the base plate.
Place the upper plate (A) onto the wheel track in such a way that it is positioned directly over
the other crossbar of the roof rack. Insert a u-bolt through the drill hole of the upper plate (A)
from above. First place the lower plate (B), the washer and then the knob nuts onto the u-bolt.
Position the bicycle rack attachment parallel to the car's longitudinal axis. Ensure that no bicycle
parts protrude beyond the contour of the vehicle later on when the bicycle has been mounted.
Now tighten all the knob nuts on the three U-bolts firmly.
