Note: To increase protection from possible oil spattering, we recommend closing the lid first and then lowering the
filled basket into the heated oil. Once frying is complete, first lift the basket into the drain position, wait a while and
then slowly open the fryer lid.

PRACTICAL TIPS

• Food must be submerged into the heated oil or shortening completely dry. This will decrease power consumption
and prolong the oil life.
• You can prevent chips from sticking together by rinsing them under water and then drying them prior to frying.
• Food with high water content, for example potatoes, is best fried in two periods as follows: Heat the oil to the
maximum temperature and lower the chips into it for a minute. Then allow them to dry. Wait until the oil reaches
the maximum temperature once again, submerge the chips again and fry until golden.
• Frozen food does not need to be defrosted, but it is also best to prepare in the fryer in two periods.
• Food coated in batter can stick to the basket grids. You can avoid this by the following: Submerge the empty
basket into the heated oil and place the coated pieces very slowly and gently into the submerged basket using e.g.
kitchen tongs. Pay extra caution to make sure the oil does not spatter.

REPLACING THE OIL

The life of the oil or shortening depends on the number and type of frying. Remnants of food settle on the
bottom of the frying unit. It is recommended to remove the residue by filtering the oil, e.g. through a dense net
(cheesecloth) or absorbent paper.
To save, pour the oil into an appropriate container for storing oil. Wipe the frying unit dry with a napkin or cloth.
Always store the deep fryer with the lid closed in order to prevent dust or other particles from getting inside. By
shifting the latch on the fryer basket holders, you can tilt both holders to facilitate fryer storage. Replace the oil
once it is dark, starts to smell or adds an unpleasant taste to food. Never refill used oil or shortening with fresh
one.
Used oil or shortening should not be poured into the toilet or down the kitchen drain. Pour it into a closed container
and dispose of it at the appropriate waste disposal site.
