Electromagnetic Compatibility

Like other electrical medical equipment, SIDNE requires special precautions
to ensure electromagnetic compatibility with other electrical medical devices.
To ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), SIDNE must be installed and
operated according to the EMC information provided in this manual.

The radiated output power of SIDNE is below the FCC
radio frequency exposure limits. Nevertheless, the device
should be used in such a manner that the potential for
human contact with the antenna during normal operation
is minimized. In order to avoid the possibility of exceeding
the FCC radio frequency exposure limits, human proximity
to the antenna should be more than 20cm during normal
operation.
Do not use cables or accessories other than those provided
with SIDNE, as this may result in increased electromagnetic
emissions or decreased immunity to such emissions.
If SIDNE is used adjacent to or stacked with other
equipment, verify normal operation of SIDNE in the
configuration in which it will be used prior to using it in
a surgical procedure. Perform the steps in the section
"Testing Compatibility" below to ensure electromagnetic
compatibility among operating room devices.
Portable and mobile RF communications equipment may
affect the normal function of SIDNE.
To prevent radio interference with any licensed service,
SIDNE is intended to be operated indoors and away from
windows to provide maximum shielding.
Any changes or modifications not explicitly approved by
Stryker Endoscopy could cause SIDNE to cease to comply
with FCC rules, and thus void the user's authority to operate
the equipment.
