7. Instructions and tips for starting a breathing exercise
The very first exercises
It is recommended to start training with the lowest vapor temperature (●) and breathing resistance (position 0).
Breathing exercise is performed by repeating exhalations and inhalations, either continuously or as a single exhaled
and inhaled breath. While exercising, you may take breaks in between ex- and inhalations if you feel it is too stren-
uous or you need to cough. You may also experience fast mucus loosening which is a normal phenomenon if you
have accumulated mucus in the airways. In this case, the mucus is just coughed, after which you may continue
using the device normally.
Breathing exercise without nasal mask
Select the breathing resistance from the breathing regulator, and the temperature from the operating buttons.
Begin with the lowest breathing resistance (position 0) and the lowest steam temperature (●).
The device resists your breathing in both exhaling and inhaling directions. You may use higher breathing resistance
later when you have become familiar with the device and the exercise.
You may select from the 3 pre-set temperatures:

Select the temperature according to your own feeling.
Expiratory muscle training
1. Fill up your lungs with air and exhale evenly into the device via mouthpiece or extension hose for app. 10-15
seconds until your lungs are almost empty.
2. Breathe freely a few times
3. Repeat points 1 and 2 for 1-4 times according to your feelings.
ATTENTION: This may feel very hard in the beginning but as soon as you learn the correct exhaling technique and
get used to the device, the exercise gets easier. You may also lower the resistance by exhaling slower.
Inspiratory muscle training
1. Empty your lungs freely and immediately fill them up by inhaling evenly from the device via mouthpiece or exten-
sion hose for 10-15 seconds.
2. Hold your breath for 1-3 seconds, after which breathe freely a few times.
3. Repeat the points 1 and 2 for 1-4 times according to your feelings.
As soon as you learn the technique and your breathing power increases, you may repeat ex- and inhalations contin-
uously without breathing freely in between them. You may make 5-15 reps at a time.
The strain of the exercise can be controlled either with a higher breathing resistance (0-3) or by inhaling and exhal-
ing into the device slower or faster. In this case, the back pressure generated by the device decreases or increases
and the exercise gets easier or harder, respectively. It is always important to listen to your own body and exercise
according to your own performance and capability.
The device generates steam from hot water by blasting bubbles. With a small breathing resistance and high blow-
ing power, the device generates more steam than with high resistance and low blowing power. By increasing
breathing resistance, also the exhaling and inhalation times get usually longer. Exhaling and inhalation are always
carried out with a constant flow.
