mounting oF exPansion
tank
Mount the expansion tank at least
200mm higher than the highest point
of the heating system or boiler. If
the expansion tank is mounted in a
wardrobe for example, Alde's protective
housing should be mounted around the
expansion tank. This will stop accidental
splashes coming in contact with clo-
thing. Leave a space of at least 220mm
above the expansion tank for topping
up and service.
Screw down fixing plate (D 16) onto
the wall. The circulation pump in the
expansion tank is a suction pump,
and therefore should always be con-
nected to the pipe under the pump and
outgoing to the pipe next to it (see Fig.
D). The expansion tank can be turned
round mirror fashion if the connection
pipe does not conform to the heating
system's pipe.
The air vent hose (D 17) shall be
assembled vertically upwards and clam-
ped down so that creases cannot form
in the hose.
The drainage hose (D 18) shall be
mounted so that it goes the shortest
route from the expansion tank out
through the floor of the vehicle. Cut the
hose obliquely at a 30º angle from the
direction of travel under the vehicle.
After the heating system has been
filled, the circulation pump shall also
be mounted (D 19) in the tank, and
secured down with the nut (D 20).
ConneCtion to tHe
Heating system
The LPG boiler's connection pipe to the
heating system (Ø 22mm) is located on
the side of the boiler. Red marking for
outgoing flow pipe (F 21) and blue for
incoming return pipe (F 22).
Use assembly set with automatic blee-
der and automatic circulation stop for
mounting on the boiler. Connect the
outgoing pipe with the rubber T pipe (F
23). The draining hose (F 25) from the
bleeder shall go out through the floor of
the vehicle. The hose shall be cut obli-
quely at a 30° angle from the direction
of travel.
NB! If a 230-volt pump (F 25) is moun-
ted, it must be connected to the return
pipe. The rubber connections must be
secured with wire clamps.
A thin layer of Permatex Form-a-Gasket
no. 3 should be applied to the joints to
seal them between the rubber connec-
tions.
n.b. The heating system reaches a
high temperature when running. The
heating pipes should be insulated or
built in to prevent the driver or pas-
senger from getting in contact with them
during the journey.
NB! Copper pipes, joints or water
storage tanks should not be used in
the system. Aluminium pipes alone
are best. Do not mix different metals
as this can give rise to serious cor-
rosion damage.
ConneCtion to tHe
FresH-Water system
In order that the warm water heater
shall function, it must be connected to
the vehicle's fresh water system.
The fresh water connections are loca-
ted on both sides of the boiler. Blue
marking for incoming cold fresh water
and red for outgoing warm water.
A safety valve must always be connec-
ted to the warm water heater. Safety
valves are available in two different
models. If incoming pressure to the
warm water heater exceeds 0.3MPa (3
bar) a pressure reducing valve must be
installed. The pressure reducing valve
shall be installed with a maximum of 0.3
MPa (3 bar) and have a minimum capa-
city of 5dm³/min.
1. external safety valve with
built-in drain.
Alde Article No. 3000 498 Safety/Drain
valve shall be mounted on the cold
water hose into the heater.
Drill a Ø 16mm hole in the floor for the
drain hose, and then screw down the
safety/drain valve into the floor.
Mount the hose connection (F 26) on
the incoming nipple. Assemble in the
following order, nut (G 30), clamp ring
(G 31), O-ring (G 32) and last of all,
hose nipple (Fig. G 33). Connect the
safety/drain valve to the hose connec-
tion.
nb! The safety/drain valve must not
be mounted higher than the hose con-
nection.
After that, mount the angle connection
with built-in bleed valve on outgoing
connection (F 27).
This shall be mounted in the same
way as the hose connection. Mount
the bleed hose (G 28) on the valve's
hose sleeve, and then pull the hose out
through the floor. The hose shall be cut
obliquely at a 30° angle from the direc-
tion of travel under the vehicle. The
hose must not be blocked.
Only use genuine Alde valves.
2. Fixed-mounted safety valve.
Alde Article No. 3000 571 Safety/Drain
valve shall be pre-mounted via a T con-
nection on the outgoing connection of
the boiler). A draining hose with 10mm
interior shall be connected from the
safety valve's outlet pipe, diameter. The
hose shall be led out through the floor
and cut obliquely at a 30° angle from
the direction of travel under the vehicle.
The hose must not be blocked.
Mount the hose nipples on the incoming
and outgoing connections.
A drain cock for emptying the boiler
should be mounted on the incoming
connection. Only use genuine Alde
valves.
lPg ConneCtion
Remove the protective cap from the gas
pipe on the boiler (F 29).
Make the LPG installation to the boiler
with an 8mm pipe connection and con-
nect to the boiler's gas pipe with clamp
ring connections.
When laying the pipe, remember that
the boiler has to be dismounted for
service.
The boiler should be connected to an
LPG cylinder with type-approved pres-
sure reducing valve and a pressure of
30mbar.
NB! National regulations must be
adhered to when installing LPG.

eleCtriCal ConneCtion

12 Volt dC (fig E)
Connect the extension cable (E 34)
between the control panel and the LPG
boiler.
NB! If there is no liquid in the heating
system, wait before connecting 12V to
the boiler. This is so that the boiler shall
not be started by mistake without liquid.
The cable must not be extended. Only
use genuine cables from Alde, which
are available in various lengths.
Supply of 12 volts to the boiler must be
direct from the battery via the vehicle's
main breaker (E 35) or a separate brea-
ker (the boiler consumers about 15-40
mA when it is in stand-by or is switched
off).
A fuse (E 36) of 3-5 A must be moun-
ted close to the battery. The plus and
minus cable between the battery and
the boiler shall have an area of 1,5mm²
up to 20 metres length (10m for plus
cable and 10m for minus cable). With
longer cable lengths, the area must be
increased to 2,5mm².
If a transformer is used instead of bat-
tery, it must be of good quality, giving
proper direct current and not pulsing
direct current.
For electrical connection from the boiler
to the circulation pump in the expansion
tank use a two-core cable of at least
0.5mm² area. (Maximum length 6mm)
If a longer cable, 0.75mm² area. Mount
the cable in the two-pole switch and
connect to the boiler's switch (E 38) and
to the circulation pump's switch (E 39).
