9. Basic operation

a) Installation

• Place the product with the back on a level, smooth surface. Try not to move it during a test.

b) Switching on/off

• Press and hold the EXIT
LC display (4) lights up. A signal is emitted to confirm that the device has been switched on.
• Press and hold the EXIT
LC display (4) goes out. A signal is emitted to confirm that the device has been switched off.

c) Automatic shut-off

The cable tester switches off automatically after a certain time with no operation to save power.
A shut-off period of 10 minutes without input is pre-set. You can change this shut-off time
according to your preferences. Refer to the Chapter '14. Device settings', Section 'Setting the
time for automatic shut-off "Auto OFF time"' for information on how to implement the setting.

d) Selecting the function menu and functions

After switching on the device, the device is automatically set to measure the length of data
cables.
